When you are 4 weeks away from a 20% tariff being levied on your products, you buy a distributor to cut out the middleman. Now they can sell directly to pro shops via Classic and hold the line on prices. It makes perfect sense considering their main competitors aren't facing a 20% tariff.
Buying Classic Products to "cut out the middleman" means vertical integration from production to storage and finished distribution to customers. It usually means better prices for the consumer, but that's for a single company in a large, competitive industry. Bowling is not a large competitive industry. It's a small, concentrated industry. It most likely means higher profits for Brunswick without higher prices, but we'll see what happens.
Many times distributors create a wall between the makers and the users and the OEMs lose critical customer information and feedback. Now they will have full access to their customers (meaning the pro shops) so this will allow them to be more agile and responsive to pro shops needs.
I totally clicked on this vid because of the hilarious thumbnail. OK...OK...I clicked on it cuz I wanted to hear the news, but that thumbnail was still hilarious!
Amazon used UPS and other delivery services until they built their own...I see this as a shortcut to building your own, just buy one... Obviously, like others have stated, Tariffs are a consideration..
I see this being a good thing for distributors like Steve Cook. A lot of narrow minded, B7 is going to ruin the equipment market, will be scared off then taking business to Steve.
Brunswick already has the cheapest bowling balls on the market, but the imposed tariffs may change that. Buying Classic should bring prices down a little, but bowling balls are very expensive to make so time will tell

Simo works at Classic Products. Does this mean he will basically be repping both Storm and Brunswick?
With the middle man cut out, will this lead to cheaper bowling balls? Everyone I know that rolls old equipment says as new ball is too expensive.
It will definitely lead to more expensive bowling balls

How many locations do they have?

I’m in a mean slump right now, how do i get out of it
Next time you bowl, try to reset yourself by thinking less and letting your body mechanics take over!
Tomato or tomaato…. Just get the balls out ASAP to the pro shops please.
