    Amongst all this you forgot the national canal system in the UK which helped build the Industrial revolution. A poor effort at this video.

    In Norway they built a water tunnel through a mountain for Cruise Ships to avoid the extreme weather in the coast line.

    Very educational and informative but it is most unfortunate that the information about the Suez Canal is incomplete hence incorrect since it was first built and used by the great Persian King Darius the great and used to attack Greece by passing the Persian navy through it to reach Greek islands on the Mediterranean Sea.
    I hope this is helping to complete a very comprehensive video.

    1:30' - It is not "The United Stateses." Hello? GOT ENGLISH?
    It is "The UNITED STATES' " (There is an apostrophe there?)
    Further, it is pronounced "The United States." And NOT "The United Stateses." Geezus.
    Are we illertiate? How did you get this job?
    DUH? Got English? WHat the what is YOUR first language?
    ~~~~~
    1:50' - It is not "Texases " Nope. That would mean multiples of TEXAS. How many Texases do you have?
    Here in the USA? We have only one?
    It is "Texas' " (another one of those apostrophes?) and is pronounced "TEXAS."
    Get a dictionary, dude. Or better, a language tutor.
    pon a pay.
    Northwest Passage is not a canal. If it is, then the Northeast Passage qualifies too. As we speak, Russia is building the Artic Silk Road and a $110 billion Artic megaport is 80% completed.
    On cities with canals, there are a few much older cities in China which have longer canals and have more tourists annually than Venice.
    And why no mention of the St.Lawrence Seaway canals?
      They are just waterways. Their importance is mostly valued by those who live near them and use them most. Remember, we are all people of the world who make our lives on top of the dirt of the planet. Anything we have while we are alive we cannot take with us when we die. Our most important possession is the love we have with our family, friends and neighbors. God Bless You.
    Sorry America and the other nations disputing it. The north west passage does pass primarily in Canadian sovereign waters in most places. I’m quite sure the stretch that travels off the north coast of Alaska is certainly considered American. So with that said open those cheque books shipping companies !
  • @jaquigreenlees
    @jaquigreenlees Рік тому +18
    I find it odd that until the climate change allowed for a real possibility of opening the NorthWest Passage there was no issue with anyone over Canada claiming the waterway as part of it's territory. As soon as it became a real possibility it was claimed to be an international waterway just to deny any economic benefit to Canada who would have to provide rescue services and bear the brunt of environmental cleaning if any incident requires it.
    • @mjb12141963
      @mjb12141963 Рік тому +2
    • @jaquigreenlees
      @jaquigreenlees Рік тому +2
      @@lyfewithpiglet582 I would rather not have Canadian taxes spent on the cleanup from wrecks there for ships going elsewhere and just using the route. Having it as Canadian waters means fees for use and those fees reduce the tax dollars needed to clean messes. Either way, Canada will have to clean up from any messes when it's used.
But it's educative to know about all of them, helps learn about the world of before, how they did things and the hard work this must have been.
