Yamashita was hanged from the gallows not from a tree. “On 23 February 1946, Yamashita was hanged at Los Baños, Laguna Prison Camp, 30 miles (48 km) south of Manila. After climbing the thirteen steps leading to the gallows.” (Malaya Tribune newspaper, 2/23/1946)

It is not a tomb. This is just his execution site. The remains of the general was flown back to Japan and is lodged at the Tama Reien cemetery in Tokyo.

Sa Maynila ang paglilitis sa kanila ni General Masaharu Homma. Sa Los Baños binigti si General Yamashita at binaril naman ng firing squad si General Homma mga ilang daang metro lang ang layo sa pinagbigtian ni Yamashita.
