Jack-by-the-hedge is one of my favourite plants and this year is growing profusely in my wild garden so thank you so much for this recipe which I will definitely be making this week. Question - do you keep a separate blender for this kind of oil-based recipe as I can see it being hard work for the blender and difficult to clean. I don't want to mess up my Nutribullet. Many thanks.
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Oh, I'm across the pond in the US. This is still one of my favorite foraging channels! I'm trying to add a few foraged foods to my skillset every year. J
I've been boiling garlic mustard (5 to 8 mins) for the last couple of weeks to serve with meals. Someone told me yesterday that the Orange Tip Butterfly lays it's eggs on Jack-by-the-Hedge. Hopefully I'll try your pesto recipe soon.
I expect if you use sterilised jars and stored them with the canning method they would last much longer. I suppose that’s how they store them with shop bought ones. I haven’t tried it though
Saw and ate my first bit of wild garlic mustard the other day!!! Awesome!!!
Nice one. I love it too 😊
Looks so fresh and delicious!

Yummy. I've a tonne of wild garlic drying out in my kitchen. May try this. Thanks ☺
We have a lot of garlic mustard and black walnuts around me, so I'm going to try that combo this spring.
Sounds great. Where abouts in the country are you? I’ve got a few black walnut spots but not many

I’ll de giving this a go over the weekend👍 Thanks Mate 🤗
How did it go?
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Going this weekend mate, I’ll let you know 😁
I prefer to pick them before they've flowered, once the garlic mustard has bolted it becomes much more bitter
Nice one! Not seen any garlic mustard yet!
Love this! Such a good idea and so easy to make vegan. :)
Yea! I blend some cashews and nooch together with a little onion powder or garlic powder and that seems to make a tasty sprinkle for pasta 😃🌱
Thanks 😊
Thanks great video. 😁 I've seen a recipe for wild edibles kimchi and I wondered if you've tried to make it?
Yes I do it with sow thistles :)
@@UKWILDCRAFTS I'm not sure what sow thistle is, but I'll look it up now. If your making it again at some point it would be great to see a video. 😁
Can you freeze it?
Yes you can. If you freeze it in ice cube trays you can defrost in small portions :)
Nice..
Is there anyway to make it last longer than 2-3 weeks?

Freezing works well.!
Love the idea but it always tastes of paracetamol to me :(
Same here sadly 😥
Yeah I hear that happens with some people unfortunately. Stick to the wild garlic 😉
