" Who let Ephraim watch anime again?"
I'd love to see foggy mountain breakdown in this style.
The style the world didn't know it needed.
Banjo and Shamisen sound so similar!
The only difference is the really big pick (bachi) they use also strikes the skin at the same time for that tapping effect.
@@The_Gallowglass the strings are also made from different materials, also the shamisen has no frets, giving a constant slide effect
@@sargon5361 There are plenty of fretless banjos too. They are really popular with clawhammer players. A lot of clawhammer players like nylon strings too. This is a lot closer to clawhammer playing than 3 finger Scruggs style bluegrass.
Yeah, I figured the shamisen was too similar to the banjo for there not to be something like this out there.
Now I want to see somebody play that creepy shamisen tune from “Shinkenger” on a banjo. XD
I really want to see a banjo cover of kodo by the yoshida brothers 😁
"Haro, mai neimu izu [Kaoboii Tanaka]"

You seriously should consider playing in japanese clubs!
For a second or two, I thought the logo on his shirt was a tuner sticking out the side of the neck for a fifth string.
Harro Mai nemu isu Cowboy Kanata
I LOVE this. You're so talented.
That's cool as hell, man.
Glorious.
I would like to see the faces of Japanese in the 19th century when they heard this on the shamisen.
I have his book (not autographed) and I still haven't built a professional grade shamisen.
Anytime I watch an anime and the sister is in love with her brother
Fuck this is perfect
rorru taido
Dope dude, yeehaaawww!
I would love to hear this with a bluegrass line up - bass - mandoline - banjo - fiddle - slide guitar maybe and dog house bass. It would be awesome.

When a male MC must marry one of his sisters
This is pretty cool dude. Being American, I could say that was bluegrass at its best.
abused98 never heard of earl scruggs, jimmy Martin, Lester flat, Stanley brothers or the Dillard’s have you?
As a banjo player, the shamisen is tougher. That giant pick is hard to control. Yes there is a lot less things you can do with a shamisen, but still hard.
