Homemade Christmas decorations including recipe to make for free

- Hello welcome back to my UA-cam channel today I’m bringing you a diy Christmas decoration video so grab a cuppa and hopefully you’ll enjoy.
The recipe for salt dough as follows;
1 Cup of salt
2 Cups of flour
1 Cup of warm water
If you are wanting the dough coloured you may add
1/2 Tea spoon of gel food colouring or 3 large spoons of liquid food colouring (if desired)
Or 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon for scent and slight brown colourant

So nice to watch something refreshing and clean.I find a lot on UA-cam are copycats.This made me smile. I used to do things like this with them.Its.lovely to see you making these and with your kids.I think it's a rare thing nowadays,.a lot of mums are run off their feet.Its lovely to see you, even though your were busy and tired you made time.for your kids.Also.its not ridiculously expensive. The others can sod off and realise the world is a very large place outside of their camera and they would be good to remember that x stay you hun and the world will be a far better place for it xxx

Love that you’re wearing your cute tartan dress! Love the navy and red better than last years green and red… thanks for reminding me about making little clay ornaments, they work any time of year and are great for tags on your pressies. Great for a wee keepsake especially if it’s personalised. Keep up the good work Rosie, you always are so much fun! X …. Forgot to say did Albert head butt you by chance? Noticed the black eye and was surprised you didn’t say anything. That’s an ouchy one when a baby nuts you! 😂

Also you can seal salt dough decorations with pva glue when dry. Still have to store them in cool dry conditions.
You can also make a dough with cornstarch& baking soda . That dough is white . Half a cup of cornstarch one cup of baking soda 3/4 cup of water bake for a hour at . 170

If you're using salt dough. Best not to roll it too thin as it breaks too easily when dry. Like a thin biscuit.
What kind of paint can you use? Do you need to varnish them if you paint them?
Hey lovely you can use literally any paint in them and no need to seal if not wanted. If you are hanging them on a wreath outside I would then use an oil based paint and then a varnish xxx

What a fantastic & cheap way to.make your own decorations. Make them as plain or glittery or colourful.as you want to. I like making things so I think.im gonna give this a go. And loving the dress from the joanies video, you look lovely. If I wore a nice dress doing crafting I would probably get paint / glue all over it!! 😁

Just don’t leave them unwrapped in the garage! My son made these last year at nursery found them melting and mouldy this year 🥲
Yes they will go bad that way ❤️ definitely keep them wrapped in tissue inside an airtight container xxx
I made them with play dough 20+ years ago they are still perfect the children added glitter & sparkly things I still put them on my tree every year . I just let them dry over night .😊
