Its all about experience and throttle modulation here. Apparently, it should have been most difficult for the little Suzuki . Pajero in more experienced hands would be good. Prado driver took the most difficult method I guess but its massive and majestic articulation helped.

Everytime i watch a video like this i see comments like “the pajero driver should learn how to drive” in every video the driver is the problem? I have to say the Land Cruiser did it effortlessly.
As a Montero owner, what they are referring to is the fact you need to stay on the throttle in order to let the traction control system work. Thus, they are correct when saying the driver needs to do better (notice when the Pajero driver would start gaining momentum, he would take his foot off the gas-neither of the other two drivers did that).
What they are referring to is the fact that the drivers do not get optimum use out of the Pajero's traction control. It is a matter of knowing how to use the tool you are working with.
For every brand the driver is the problem. Go look at videos where Toyota is not making it look easy, and the driver is the problem. Go look at videos where Land Rover is not making it look easy, and the driver is the problem if you look at the comments. All of these use brake based traction control to do this trick. The Paj traction control is not bad, it was among the best, as well as Toyota. Of course there is a lot variation between years and models, and indeed drivers too. Depending how the traction control is setup, it may require certain type of driving style to perform optimally.
I have a 2002 Paj and never had this problem, even before mods. This is more driver error rather than the vehicle
Yeah also they should have done a blind test meaning the other drivers would not observe on how they maneuver on the terrain..
2010 doesn't either, It's the driver that has the problem by the look of it.

I wonder how much is the use of constant throttle on the Prado. The traction control requires wheel slip to engage so the Pajero owner may not have managed to engage it by just accelerating too fast and then stopping after a couple seconds. With slow constant throttle, the Prado engaged the traction control as it allowed for some wheel spin.
The Prado has also more wheel articulation in the back so that helps keeping the wheels on the ground.
Yup. V frustrating to watch
All 3 made it through a reasonably difficult obstacle so they all passed, the GV bottomed out at one point so it comes 3rd, the Prado stayed the most flat and stable thanks to better wheel travel so comes in 1st. That leaves the Pajero 2nd.

Okay ,the Pajero has an all independent suspension setup and only relies on TC! The driver should've pressed the throttle gently ! For the LC Prado , it's easy because of the suspension travel !
Prado was lifting its wheels despite taking easier line, by other words it wasn't because of suspension travel (that is only few tens of millimeters better). Remove the ABS fuse of the Prado and it would have massive trouble getting over that without traction control, by other words it was using TC as well.
Solid axles and KDSS suspension system of prado is the main that prado could handle the situation easily rather than independent suspension system of pajero and suzuki

I've driven suzuki grand vitara 2014 2.4L
and mitsubishi pajero 2018 v6 3.0L
They are both tough and high quality.
If someone gives me options to choose a car for journey all around the world
I will choose suzuki grand vitara, because it is compact and light in weight and has offroad capabilities, it suits for cities, highways and off roads.

Ummm, they don't have a rear diff lock. They have a central diff lock that operates on both front and rear diffs once engaged into 4 high or 4 low.
I have a factory rear diff lock....as do must gen 4's

Yep, my 2016 NX Pajero comes with a factory rear diff lock as standard

@@kbr3096 I think both are good. The Pajero consumption is for sure higher: 13%. But the Pajero is bigger and you can care your camping gear better.
