At the end however I missed the filling with oil in the brake hoses, but I think you already had that covered in another video, so it seems that that was no hassle and similar to Shimano. I would have just widened the brake hose hole a bit with a file or a dremel. This part is between the clamps of the stem, there isn't really a load on the handlebar at that point.

    • @klein-concept
      @klein-concept  10 місяців тому

      I almost did it but as it is a lightweight bar i wanted to give it a try first without getting the dremel out 😂😂

  • @lolxd7150
    @lolxd7150 3 місяці тому +1

    It might be a dumb question as I’m going to build my first bike this winter. Where do you get headset spacers that fit an FSA stem? If I understood correctly, the bottom cap that sits on top of the bearing is provided by Winspace, but the caps on top need to sit perfectly flush with the stem. I’m not going for a slammed stem, so I need to ensure I have enough spacers before starting the build :D, I don't really like the shape of the fsa stem but sadly it looks like there are not that many available fully integrated options.

    • @klein-concept
      @klein-concept  3 місяці тому +1

      @@lolxd7150 not anstupidnquestion at all. If i remember correctly the frame actually comes with a couple spacers that fit the top cover that sits on top of the bearing. You could have a look at their original handlebar or an Avian Canary handlebar instead of going with a stem handlebar combo like i did. 🤜🤛

    One thing to notice is you cannot use this bike on an indoor trainer as there is not an opening for the thru axle on the drive side.

    • @klein-concept
      @klein-concept  10 місяців тому +1

      That is true and i had the issue with my BMC when i was supposed to have a bike fit made. But it still works on a direct drive indoor trainer like the Wahoo Kickr.

    • @KevinBaggs
      @KevinBaggs 10 місяців тому

      Do you mean a wheel on trainer like the kicker snap? Direct drive trainera need either a thru axle or quick release axle which both require a hole on both sides. @@klein-concept

    • @klein-concept
      @klein-concept  10 місяців тому +2

      @@KevinBaggs no i mean the regular kickr or kickr core. With thru axles it works without a problem. Only trainers where you would need to keep the rear wheel in are problematic as they need to clamp left and right of the axle.

    Great video, thanks for making it! Is the expander plug that you used the one that came with the frame set? Or did you buy that separately to be compatible with the stem? I am using the same stem with the agile and it seems that the expander plug bolt is not long enough to go through the stem cap and into the expander.

    • @klein-concept
      @klein-concept  7 місяців тому

      Thanks a lot. Yes its the plug and bolt that came with the frame as far as i remember. Its odd if the bolt is too short as normally there is only a couple mm between the cap and the expander.

      @SamuelMoore-j4j 7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the response! Interesting yours was what came with the bike. From the video it looks silver on the outside, mine is black. Maybe winspace changed the expander that comes with the frame. The bolt on mine will not go through the fsa wedge cap and be long enough to go through the cone in the expander into the base plate with the threaded hole. @@klein-conceptI would say OR yes, but I´m not quite sure in this specific instance what the correct/best choice is. I would think that thread lock would be the chosen to insure that the bolts don´t come loose, while the grease would prevent the bolts from seizing.

      I wish we could bring back rim brakes big time. And who knows. I agree the setup and maintenance of disc is a pain. While on the other hand i also appreciate the braking power in the wet and also that braking doesnt eat away my rim but only a replaceable disc.

      Nah, disc brakes gave us integrated cockpits / aero cabling, and also ability to run much wider tire widths. Not to mention no longer have to worry about using a carbon rim as as a braking surface. All in all, these are great advancements, IMO. But I haven't gone full hydraulic yet. Still running the hybrid Juin-Tech R1 type brakes. :D

    • @klein-concept
      @klein-concept  10 місяців тому

      The wear or a carbon rim was always my main concern. Like getting a stone or something stuck in the brake pads and just smashing a very expensive wheelsets. But your other improvements are also valid. I personally like an integrated cockpit but setting up a classic rim brake bike is just a breeze hehe.
