  • Tado Wireless Temperature Sensor Add-On for for Radiator Valves. The wireless temperature sensor is an Add-On to your room radiator value, you can use the temperature senor to control the radiator valve when it is recording the wrong temperature due be being behind a curtain, sofa or in direct sunlight.

    Thanks, I have always contemplated issues with smart TRV, knowing it’s too close to the radiator. My baby thermometer picks up different temperatures depending on where it’s placed, if it’s next to the window, it’s a lower reading, mid height, different, near the ceiling, different. This will be a great solution but also additional cost to the already expensive Tado TRVs and starter kit.

    I had to get one of these, not because I was bothered about incorrect temp settings so close to radiator, but guests in my bnb were accidentally removing the valve head when trying to adjust the temperature (seems a design flaw. Easy to remove, but too easy for your average joe who look at it as a standard thermostat, end up twisting the whole valve itself rather than the top half of the valve, resulting in the whole thing coming off altogether)

    Can you place the thermostat in the same room as the radiator TVR? I've read no, but it TADO SMART enough make them work together properly?

    can you use the room sensor to receive data from 6 Tado valves in different rooms to signal to the Tado wireless boiler relay?

    Hey, I have a question about tado. If you have a wired thermostat in room A, and the temperature sensor in room B. The temperature in room A is set lower than room B. Will the thermostat still ask the boiler to heat room B once room A is heated enough?

    Can you link this temperature sensor to a cabled thermostat ? I hapen to have 3 heating radiator circuits, and on one of them, the thermostat is placed near the fireplace and it has wrong readings. I would like to read the temperature from few meters away from the fireplace but have the activator for the circuit where it is, so that I do not need to move the cabling.

    Thanks for that. Is the bridge still required if just using the temperature sensor for the dedicated trv?

      @hometechUK  2 роки тому +1

      Yes the bridge will still be needed as Tado require an internet connection to work.

    Thanks to this additional sensor, is it now possible to set a temperature with half degrees ? (ie. 20,5) with the phone ? which is currently not possible with the trv only

    what product do you use as your main thermostat ie Nest, Hive or Tado? I am thinking of getting the New Nest thermostat with a few tado radiator value and maybe a temperature sensor later on

      I have the Nest gen 3 as my main thermostat, love the design & nest app, although the new Nest will use just the Google Home app.

      @@hometechUKthanks for replying me. Can you use the Nest app to control the tado thermostat radiator valve and tado temperature sensor?

      No to control the Tado devices you have to use the Tado app. Or the Google home app.

      @@hometechUK does the nest app work with the Tado TVR's?

    I noticed you have a Nest app on your phone. Are you using both the Tado and the Nest in your home? if so how do they work together?

    • @hometechUK
      @hometechUK  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I have the nest thermostat & Tado radiator valves, they don't really work together. The nest thermostat is on a time schedule to turn on in the morning till 9am & from 5:30 to 10pm, I then use the Tado app to set each room max temperature, so in the evening the bedrooms are set to 17 so they don't get to warm but downstairs all set to 22,°c.

    Can it control multiple rooms or only 1 at a time?
    E.g. can I assign it to control both the living room and dining room, or just one of them?

    • @hometechUK
      @hometechUK  3 роки тому

      I've not tried but the only way I can see this working is if you place both radiators in the same room group, then assign the Wireless thermostat sensor to one of them?

    • @Mr.G...
      @Mr.G... 3 роки тому +2

      @@hometechUK yeah i thought so... Would be nice though if it could be linked to multiple room groups. That way the wireless thermostat could act as master to override radiator thermostats.

    • @Synchrodipity
      @Synchrodipity 3 роки тому +1

      Exactly the same question I was trying to answer -- would be nice if you could set every radiator in your home to a constant temp, rather than having to buy multiple thermostats.
      The issue with the 'single room' solution, from my experience, is that Alexa devices only recognise rooms and not devices.

    hi i am new to this,
    i will have a new home and i have an normal standard honeywell thermostat that control the whole apartment, (living room is with floor heating), so once I turn it up (the temperature in the whole apartment goes up), I wanted to add tado, so that I can control the bedrooms and bathrooms, would this be possible? and how to change it? as the heating system works as one with the old thermostat? sorry for asking a lot!

    • @hometechUK
      @hometechUK  3 роки тому

      Yes that would work if your Honeywell thermostat also has a timer program, you would set wyour programs to when your heating comes on. Ie 7am to 8.30,. 5pm to 9 pm where ever that thermostat is placed when it reaches that set temperature the heating would turn off or on. Now you can also add the Tado radiator valves that would control the temperature in that specific room, like I have the bedrooms set to 17c in the evening so the bedrooms dont get to hot but for the morning set to 19 so it's warm when I get up. You just set the Tado timers in the app.
      So yes you can have a non smart house thermostat timer & Tado radiator valves.

    Have you noticed that linking a thermostat with a trv means your trv will no longer display the animated adjustment? Shame, as I quite liked my animated valves.

    • @hometechUK
      @hometechUK  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I agree with that wish the tvr also displayed when changing.

  • @maarten271

    €99 is way too much for a simple thermometer. But you have no choice because the temperature sensor in the smart radiator is (obviously) too close to the radiator, and tado locks you into their system.

    Im my opinion this thing makes no sense. It keeps the temperature from the thermostat, not from itself
