I found it about a year ago (think it was a different channel) I’ve returned to it so many times I’ve lost track. Always loved the track from its original release; but though Thom’s vocals on it are stunning, hearing this is just… beautiful.
An absolutely stunning cover and performance of what I feel is a tragically underrated Radiohead song! It blows me away how everyone involved with this performance was able to see and convey the beauty within this song in such a unique and different way! 😊
I absolutely love it...yet I am also laughing in confirmation. The songs of the popular music era will be that we eventually got to a point where we were all writing apocalyptic versions of all types of songs and then we covered them in another apocalyptic tone - even our love or heartbreak songs.
I hate this beautiful sublime piece of music. Its too real and honest and from that first line it stings. When it gets to the chorus it's like remembering sitting on the stairs in the apartment and wishing the world would fade to black, credits would begin to roll as the song plays. Just an end would have been better than the sense of hopelessness that filled those months. This truly is a masterpiece of a song and this interpretation takes things to another level of emotional impact.
Amazing! I've never really listened to choir music, but the power of all those different voices singing all in harmony at once, nothing could have prepared me for that. This is really beautiful. At 01:20, the woman in dark navy blue with short curly hair, it looks like she is smiling from hearing all those at voices at once, I can only imagine the feeling it gives you being there and being one of them.
Every single time. I feel for the Mays. I feel for the audience. I have zero clue how his band mates remained composed. And this comes after years of revisiting this. My goodness. Rest in Peace.
I hope Radiohead sees these coral versions of their songs. I was in the chorus (poorly) in college for music school. You can't fake it in a chorus and you even have to get the notes right, harder than it looks. This is Beautiful!
I'm so glad this came up on my recommended! You guys did a beautiful job with my favourite Radiohead track. That was stunning! this deserves so many more views.
The presentation of lyrics (normally competing for notice), with the beautiful backing really hits hard. Great job, choir. But...wow, Thom/Radiohead..Thank you.
Such a beauty.Well done, wel done indeed.More choirs do Radiohead songs.Seems they fit so well for choirs.Often very intense, beautiful lyrics. They gain an extra weigt by choir singing.❤
I get home from work And you're still standing in your dressing gown Well, what am I to do? I know all the things around your head And what they do to you What are we coming to? What are we gonna do? Blame it on the black star Blame it on the falling sky Blame it on the satellite That beams me home Troubled words of a troubled mind I try to understand what is eating you I try to stay awake, but it's 58 hours Since that I last slept with you What are we coming to? I just don't know anymore Blame it on the black star Blame it on the falling sky Blame it on the satellite That beams me home I get on the train and I just stand about Now that I don't think of you I keep falling over, I keep passing out When I see a face like you What am I coming to? I'm gonna melt down Blame it on the black star Blame it on the falling sky Blame it on the satellite That beams me home This is killing me This is killing me
I would venture to say most of the people in the choir had probably never heard Black Star prior to the song being selected for them to sing. I wonder how many of them have gone on to become huge Radiohead fans. 🙂 🎶
Magnificent cover. I hope every Radiohead fan out there is as lucky as I am to stumble on this gem.
Just found it. It's crazy nice 😁
I just found it! Absolutely love it.

I Thom Yorke or someone from Radiohead stumble upon this cover. I can even imagine that it would feel surreal for them to see this (in a good away)
That pause on 02:52 felt like an eternity in my soul
