  • In 2014, filmmaker Jessica Villerius met death row inmate, Clinton Young, who had been convicted of a double homicide and became convinced of his innocence. Her documentary ‘Innocent on Death Row’ exposed the weakness of the whole case, proving the shootings could not possibly have taken place the way the prosecutor alleged. These and other new facts, including serious misconduct by the prosecution, led to Young’s execution being halted just 8 days before it was due to take place. He is granted a new trial and freed on given bail to await his new trial.
Clinton was 19 when he was imprisoned. He is now 38. After almost 20 years of solitary confinement, how do you adapt to life outside? In addition, the strict conditions of his bail prevent him from living in the same state as his family and even going to the supermarket across the road from his house. He’s terrified of making the slightest mistake and being sent back to prison. He’s free but not free.

Clinton was doing everything he was supposed to do, yet he is now faced with two indictments for the same murder. Clinton’s bail was initially set at 5 million dollars, but on August 25 his bond was reduced by a judge to $150,000. Clinton spent over 2 weeks in jail. On August 29, we were able to bail Clinton out of jail, again, and give him his freedom back, again, with the help of some very generous people." _Clinton Young Foundation website_

I only did around have his time in prison and I’ve done a few years in solitary confinement. When he first got out his anxiety and just everything around him was a lot to handle. That’s probably why he looks flustered and doesn’t know what to say. His mind is trying to process what’s going on. Glad to see him out. Pray for nothing but the best for him and his family

the Clinton Young Foundation website. This is basically the last update "In August 2022, Clinton was arrested for the same murder he was already indicted and out on bond for. After 2 weeks in jail, the Foundation got Clinton out on bond again, and Clinton currently awaits his new trial in freedom."

He honestly seems like a good person. Just got caught up in the wrong crowd early on in his teen years. Ive actually seen how these things play out most of my friends I hung out with on a daily basis my whole childhood and teen years are either dead or in prison. It's sad when you know the people they really are, not what they became. In all their cases one thing lead to another it takes only one mistake.

someone PLEASE hook him up with a social worker who checks in at least twice a week and helps to transition him away from being institutionalized. the situation is great but precarious. in best case, he is granted to visit the social worker/psychologist away from his apartment in an office. he should be going to see a social worker the entire time he has to wear the ankle bracelet.

Good story. Let's not forget even though he got railroaded by a corrupt system, he was far from innocent. He helped put the body in the trunk and proceeded to travel with the guy which resulted in another killing.

When I’ve seen this I came to tears😂cause he was innocent and was framed and accused of a double murder 20 years in jail and staying strong he never thought the case was over turned that is one remarkable case one in a million that usually happens but the help from lawyers they never gave up on him and believed he was innocent they did everything they could sleepless nights but had a victory got the judge to get a bail so he can be released so happy for 20 years in jail especially on death row knowing u will die eventually the execution date was set but he had faith in god and the lawyers that helped him congratulations CLINTON ❤❤❤❤So happy to see u out always think positive be strong

But the families of the families that Lost Their Loved Ones Should Get Justice & Have The Real Killer Should Never Be Let Out!! I Pray 🙏 he doesn't have to wait long for a trial or is completely Exonerated!

I can’t believe how bad the prosecutor’s are they need to be locked up. Framing a innocent man with the help of the guilty guy who did do the killing. I’m praying for a great life ahead for you Clinton. And those beautiful earth angels bless them 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

What the prosecutor will do is delay his trial for as long as possible and in the meantime he’ll remain on bond with restrictions. Just before trial, and this is if they expect an innocent verdict they’ll offer him a plea where he gets time served and receives no jail. That way he can’t pursue any monetary retribution for the time he wrongfully served on death row. That’s a big if. It’s more likely that since he was an accomplice they’d likely pursue a life sentence or a term of so many years on top of what he’s already served, something like at minimum the 30 years his codefendant received
