The thing I like about Drew is that even when he's joking about an audience member it feels genuine and not from a spiteful or malicious place. The way he addresses Betty at the end is super nice.
Because it was the first line. Had it been the third line, then we are basically guaranteed to get “Drew Carey” every time. Still, I’d imagine Drew would be pretty anxious during this, probably thinking, “shit, this early?”

This show reminds me of a time when we had cable in our house and I would try to find out exactly when my shows were scheduled so I could get my homework done in time to watch them. Now I just find it all online whenever I want. Convenient but not as nostalgic.
Funny thing is, Drew is probably the least funny and least quick witted out of all 3 hosts but he's still the best of them all. I think it suits the show more, if the host is a bit slower comedic wise than the participants. If the host can fire back and give as good as, or better back than they get, why the hell are they hosting and not participating then? Much better if the host can be an easy target and add to the comedy but not distract from the presence of the comedians by being too funny or witty.
I agree. The best part of Drew's hosting was how well they could poke at each other unreservedly. They interacted like buddies. Aisha is still trying, but not there to the point she can do this yet (on air).
Well i don't know if they'd have known back when this was filmed but Colin's daughter is transgender, so i mean thank god they were always cool about it

why do they split up the recordings like this? some of the references to inside jokes are being made in seasons earlier than the season the original joke is being made. it makes all of the jokes irrelevant to people watching it on cable. That doesn't make sense lol
They used to film for like 10-12 hours a day on weekends and get a full season in about 4 days. That's why they are always wearing the same clothes. Also from what I have heard the last few seasons had a lot of extra stuff from past seasons
