Sao Miguel is one of those places in the world that will once again make you believe in magic and fairy tales. There is absolutely no place on this island that is not overflowing with natural beauty. The gentleness and kindness of its citizens only adds to the ambiance.
I’ve traveled extensively and this is one of my favourite places on earth. A little piece of paradise with all the modern comforts in the city and still very affordable.
Hi there!! I'm curious about the place your visiting starting at around 9:50, the garden with the caves? Thank you for sharing! The azores looks beautiful
We are in MA and will be visiting in Sept. Unexpectedly, actually, we booked flights to Lisben yesterday and found out we could do a three day layover. It's been on my bucket list for a while.
Interesting ! You grew up there and left, why? I’ve been to the Azores three times and I have considered moving there while I am growing older (retire) or at least part of the year there and part of it in Sweden. What are your suggestions?
Left as a11 year old kid when my parents came to Canada . Life was not easy in the 60 and many people from the Azores left for Canada and the USA in those years . Nevere forgot were i was born but Canada is my home today along with my children and grand children . Congradulations for the fantastic video and hope that you visit Azores again soon. You are a very classy couple and I loved to see the respect and sobriety that you showed amongst the locals. I am currently on vacation and staying in São Miguel Island, where I was born. A huge hug for you both❤.
Great video of my home country. I was born in Ponta Delgada and live in Canada. I have been in Canada for most of my life but visit the Azores almost on an annual basis and never get tired of its beauty. Thanks for sharing this.

Then will be Dona Beija another hot wather, then the diferente wathers with deferen taste and gaz or not.I love my Island
Excellent overview. I really enjoyed watching your video. Did you book any organized day tour in your trip? If so, what would you recommend? Thank you:)
Great video. I prefer to stay in an area with more nature views than Ponta Delgado. Which side of the island would you recommend? Would you split your stay with 3 days on the north and3 on the west?
The Island is small enough that you can get around easy enough you don't have to move around. Also don't discount the Furnas area really beautiful there as well. Sorry for the non committal answer but the whole place is beautiful and you can't go wrong.in our opinion.
Wow that was lots of fun watching this. My parents were born there and there are many people who really don’t know where the islands are. Maybe you should do a video of all of the 9 Azores and Madeira islands? That would be fun.
Thank! We found prices to be quite reasonable for the most part. We did hit a couple expensive restaurants but we knew that was the case ahead of time.
Honestly I can’t remember the entire process but it wasn’t hard for me because I am a commercial helicopter pilot already. I do remember for the EU portion I had some online classes I took using the Ireland website because it was in English. Sorry I can’t be of more assistance to you.
I prefer Madeira. Going to the Azores in May 2025. Not sure what to do when we’re there… hopefully there will be some great seafood. The island tours don’t look very inviting & the ship’s shore excursions are marked up so high…triple the online charges in some cases.
Hiring a driver to take you to one or two places or sticking with the excursions will be your best bet. We hired a driver to take us to Sete Cidades on a 1/2 day tour only cost us 75 euro.
