I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say it would be so cool to see Freddie Albrighton on the show! 🙂

really enjoying the podcast, as for ideas for topics when you don't have guests, how about taking a major city around the world, and discussing the work of some artists you find from there, or already know about (or asking on IG stories for artist suggestions from a particular city) - might not be ideal for a full episode since some of it would be visual, but would be fun to promote some lesser known artists, maybe a recurring short segment?

    Hey guys,
Just wanted to drop by and express my deep gratitude for the incredible content you consistently deliver on your podcast. I've been a listener from day one, and your insights into the world of tattooing have been invaluable to me.
I'm fairly new to tattooing as an artist (first paid tatt 2022), having started my journey after my 30s. It's a bit of a different path for me, considering I'm already married, have two dogs, bills to pay, and a stable job in the video game industry (yes, one of the biggest companies in the world). My day job provides the financial stability that allows me to approach tattooing with a different mindset - not driven by the need for money but rather by the sheer passion for the art and the respect I have for my clients. This unique situation also gives me the luxury of taking my time to learn and grow at my own pace.
Despite not having exposure to the typical shop life or shop talk, I've been fortunate to connect with friends and mentors who have decades of experience in the tattoo game. I also participate as staff in an awesome convention held here in Austin, TX, every September. Still, there are gaps in my knowledge that I'm unable to fill on my own, and that's where your podcast comes in. Your discussions and insights have been instrumental in expanding my understanding of tattooing.
I want to express my sincere gratitude for the wealth of knowledge and inspiration I've gained from your podcast. It's truly a lifeline for someone like me who is navigating this incredible world of tattoo artistry outside the traditional shop setting. Balancing a busy life in the video game industry and pursuing my newfound passion is no easy feat, but your content keeps me motivated and informed.
By the way, I'm heading to NYC in March/April, and if the stars align, I'd love to get a tattoo from you, John. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'll continue to support your initiative in any way I can.
    Cheers,
    Bruno.

Hey! Somewhat similar story too here and this podcast is great! For beginners (esp those who are a little older) it feels nice to hear these opinions and know that I’m not bad shit crazy when I feel the same way. Sometimes the industry can be a little isolating.
Good luck with your tattoo career!

    11:53 topic about no-shows.
How would you both handle having to last minute cancel your appointment as the artist for weather conditions, situations with kids…. Things like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️
How do you handle situations like that with your clients?
Do you refund the deposit? Take money off their tattoo?
Do you come in on a day off to make up for having to cancel if your scheduled for in advance? 🤔

Great episode, guys! Jon, the artist you are talking about at the end of the video could be Hokusai, maybe? I think it's him.

I’ve had so many no shows in the last month and considering the deposits are large, I’m shocked as well. I wonder wtf is in the air as of late.
