Wow, this an awesome performance! I don't think people realize how difficult this song is to sing well. This song basically sums up Jack's entire act 1 character development in just around 2 minutes. It's a TON of emotions and material crammed into a handful of lyrics on top of a very tricky melody. You managed to nail them all; one of the best Jacks I've seen. Nice job!
Okay, wow. I’m obsessed with this. I’ve now watched it three times and I still can’t get over how much your version really makes me think about the lyrics, which is hard to do with a song I’ve loved for over a decade. Your soft vibrato is just *chef’s kiss*. Bravo.
Hopefully one of y'all can help me, What are the clothes he wearing called, Because my school is putting on a production of into the woods and i got casted as jack and i really like his costume
There are giants in the sky There are big, tall, terrible giants in the sky When you're way up high And you look below At the world you've left And the things you know Little more than a glance Is enough to show You just how small you are When you're way up high And you're on your own In a world like none That you've ever known Where the sky is lead And the earth is stone You're free, to do Whatever pleases you Exploring things you'd never dare 'Cause you don't care When suddenly there's A big, tall, terrible giant at the door A giant? A big, tall, terrible lady giant sweepin' the floor And she gives you food And she gives you rest And she draws you close To her giant breast And you know things now that you never knew before Not till the sky Only just when you've made A friend and all And you know she's big But you don't feel small Someone bigger than her Comes along the hall To swallow you for lunch And your heart is lead And your stomach is stone And you're really scared Being all alone And it's then that you miss All the things you've known And the world you've left And the little you own The fun is done You steal what you can and run And you scramble down And you look below And the world you know Begins to grow The roof, the house and your mother at the door The roof, the house and the world you never thought to explore And you think of all the things you've seen And you wish you could live in between And you're back again only different than before After the sky There are giants in the sky There are big, tall, terrible, awesome, scary, wonderful Giants in the sky Songwriters: Stephen Sondheim
Execution is absolutely amazing. Voice control is astounding and the emotion he brings into it gives that sense of fears that Jack gets. I’d like to know the decisions though to make certain notes so deep, he is a child so higher notes would make more sense in this case. I’d like to know the thought process behind that choice.
Alek Taylor He is actually a teenager transitioning into adulthood which is likely why he was cast in the show in the first place unlike a smaller child. That is likely why the director allowed him to go lower.
Santino Bono I’ve seen the show like a million times by a bunch of directors and that’s the first time I’ve seen the direction move away from tenor. It is an interesting choice as a way to show his transition into maturity though.
ugh this was amazing, I love how the stability of his voice matched the description of the world around him. ❤️

I LOVE the pit in the background.
Wow what a terrific singer you are. Acting through singing, we need more of that. Thank you.

Trousers and a flannel shirt?
There are giants in the sky
There are big, tall, terrible giants in the sky
When you're way up high
And you look below
At the world you've left
And the things you know
Little more than a glance
Is enough to show
You just how small you are
When you're way up high
And you're on your own
In a world like none
That you've ever known
Where the sky is lead
And the earth is stone
You're free, to do
Whatever pleases you
Exploring things you'd never dare
'Cause you don't care
When suddenly there's
A big, tall, terrible giant at the door
A giant?
A big, tall, terrible lady giant sweepin' the floor
And she gives you food
And she gives you rest
And she draws you close
To her giant breast
And you know things now that you never knew before
Not till the sky
Only just when you've made
A friend and all
And you know she's big
But you don't feel small
Someone bigger than her
Comes along the hall
To swallow you for lunch
And your heart is lead
And your stomach is stone
And you're really scared
Being all alone
And it's then that you miss
All the things you've known
And the world you've left
And the little you own
The fun is done
You steal what you can and run
And you scramble down
And you look below
And the world you know
Begins to grow
The roof, the house and your mother at the door
The roof, the house and the world you never thought to explore
And you think of all the things you've seen
And you wish you could live in between
And you're back again only different than before
After the sky
There are giants in the sky
There are big, tall, terrible, awesome, scary, wonderful
Giants in the sky
