Option #1 would be the best! I made Martin guitars for 10 years before becoming a Pre-k teacher. Sprecifics....they have been handcrafted since 1833 and on going. You should take a trip to CF Marin and Company where you and your family can tour the factory and see what handcraftmanship looks like. You'll love it! It would be an awesome whole Duggar family trip also. Super educational.

I texted my dad and asked him for you what the difference between Martins and Taylor’s were (I actually screen shotted the convo and sent it to your dm’s on IG if you wanna just read it). He’s been playing since he was seven and is a big guitar person. He said they’re both excellent guitars and Martins are better for Bluegrass, which is probably why your Knoxville friends favor them. He likes Taylor’s too and he says they hold value very well.
