@ptg01 it's Album and Track directories auto-populate. It can do many different playlists. By manually adding artist name it can search all albums by an artist. Seems to work well w ripped CDs in local SSD.
@itsnoahonfire I think the ripping feature was an extra. They didn't anticipate incompatibility w other vendors CD drives. They still don't have a list of drives that work. Their media player still can't find or use artist metadata. I wonder if these shortcomings also apply to the A8 & A10 which cost even more.
@ Extra or not it should still function and be supported but I get what you are saying. Seems they are focused on the streaming and DAC capabilities and abandoned the CD and ripping functionality. I almost bought this because I needed a CD player that automatically grabs Artist, Tracklisting and Album art and rips cds. If the thing came with an optical drive I would have bought it. I ended up going with a Brennan Helix. Got it a few days ago and I love it. The only thing it didn’t have that I needed was Bluetooth but I fixed that was an Aux Bluetooth adapter. They have an App that controls the device through your phone if you choose. Eversolo left a lot to be desired with this overpriced streamer. If they added an optical drive with CD and blu ray capabilities within a streamer this thing would fly off the shelves. I was after something that could replicate what old Sony Bluray players used to do before they discontinued Gracenotes that automatically looked up cd info.
@itsnoahonfire the new FiiO Dm13 CD player with BT is supposed to be able to rip CDs to a flash drive or to a smartphone using their App. Darko will be doing a review on it. Eversolo's media player adds artists to its directory that I've never heard of with no links to albums or tracks. It does seem to support other media players like Plex, which might be a solution.
way too much money to play CDs. CD/DVD reader is expensive itself, it is a joke that we have to buy it seperately. At this point I can just as well buy a decent DVD player or even a high-end Blu-ray player and use that to play CDs... lol
@bsnf-5 external USB cd/dvd readers are $25 at Best Buy. However only certain readers will work w the A6 Eversolo. They don't tell u that little detail. Don't know if problem carries over to their A8 or A10 models.
@bsnf-5 if u meant buying it to use as a CD player it would be a waste of $ but if u already own one, it's an option. I think makers of new $$ CD players r chasing a revival that won't take place.
@@AudioTnT True. Actually CDs are doing great and revival is entirely possible. I love CDs, anyway. To each his own. But still playing CD can be done in so many ways, that this alone is fascinating. It's a pretty alive music format. I don't like vinyl, by the way, I consider it overrated.
Nice !! How well does it handle meta data of ripped CD's ? How well organized is it ?

The fact this doesn't come with an optical drive but rips CDS is BS. Especially for the price. Shouldn't have to add an external optical drive.
