Kayaking Turtle Creek - Darian, WI to Shopiere, WI - July 2024

Put-in at the O’Riley Landing in Darian, WI off of S. O’Riley Road. Take-out at Sweet Allyn Park in Shopiere, WI. The put-in has a gravel parking lot, signage, and a grassy shoreline for launching. The take-out at Sweet Allyn Park has paved parking lots, a dedicated landing site, and permanent restrooms. The trip was about 9 3/4 miles and took us about 3 hours at a very leisurely pace.

The water level for this trip was 4.3’ or 240 CFS at the Carvers Rock Road gauge in Clinton, WI. This was a very nice water level with no scraping and plenty of water to clear obstructions in the river. Water quality was excellent with a nice current across the nearly 10 miles.
