Especially on live TV. I'm sure allot of people that don't know them were like.. wtf is this!!?? Lol but this song is genius inside and out. Just like all their music!
The song starts like a happy silly movie. Then the shit gets dark and you say “ok, we have a song”. Lastly came the crescendo part and it melts your brain. Pure gold from these guys. It fits perfectly as a soundtrack for a Nolan’s warewolf movie.
Incubus' songs are almost all about it. They start calmly and evolves to darkness and then it comes the explosion! Not all of'em, of course, but most of'em. The Warmth, Paper Shoes... ❤❤❤ Amazing, that's INCUBUSSSS
One of the things I like about Incubus is that they make the music that they want to make, not what the record company wants them to make or what fans want them to make.
I swear on everything I made that same statement to my buddy while we were talking about our musical influences and favorites. That is so profound because the record companies, during the late 90s, just replicated whatever was popular. Hence, Hoobastank, the Incubus-esque knock off. I won't lie, I dug a few of their tunes but nothing will ever match the first time I listened to science. 🤘🤘 I see your comment was 4 years ago. I hope you're doing well in 2021.
I can't explain the dopamine and intense level of pleasure this song and band gives me! It's so addictive!! And Brandon is so gorgeous but his voice and passion and talent?! I can't! 😍
one of the things i love about this band so much is the fact that they do what THEY want to as a band. who else would have the balls (in 2011) to play a 7 and a half minute long song on letterman?! i adore how few fucks they give
This song has been 1 of my favourites for years but has taken on a completely different meaning since getting clean and sober, the lyrics feel like they were written about recovery and this song means so much more to me now.
The first half of the song is so airy and soothing. It reminds me of a vintage rock song from the 70s and then it flips into this modern and sensual groove. And Brandon’s voice paints this beautiful entralling picture, very sexy. I love it!
Brandon is just....mesmerizing. It's recent performances like this that brought me back to them. I've been a fan for years but now I just can't get enough.
This song is so good, I thought it sounded like a cover from the 70s. Nope! It's just that good..not to mention the brilliant lyrics. It reaches down to my soul. Thank God for this band 🖤
This is absolutely beautiful. Captivating performance sang with such brooding sensuality. Sends shivers much in the same way as Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably numb', 'Dark side of The Moon' and Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day'. That dark intense beauty with an added sexuality.
I love how Brandon is actually FEELING what he's singing. The beat after 3:15 its just awesome too. "it was the longest night of my lift" give me the chills
Great song. The problem is this was one of the only decent songs on the new album. They can still write great songs, they're just fewer and far between. Light Grenades and INNW just have too many bad songs.
They are artists who try new things and some fans are not use to it. In my opinion it would be far worse if they got stuck in a certain type of music, like The Killers did.
I was lost but now I am found. A line was crossed, a vessel run aground. The boy has gone, let's grieve and let him go. He left a dog, but it's a new day don't you know? In the company of wolves I sat in silence Observant and afraid He was there with the eyes like glowing embers The man knew she was made. I was lost but now I am high. It helps to know serenity from anywhy. Something's wrong, something's wrong, When it all remains the same. So face the fire, come into your name. In the company of wolves I sat in silence, observant and afraid. He was there with the eyes like glowing embers, The man knew she was made. Ohhhhhooo Even I can't recall how many days I have been out there For when all those lights cease to shine, It was a lie I think for the first time. Infinity it falls, in feathery folds but she bites like loveless eyes, But with her belly full she called this rite of passage, It was the longest night of my life. (It was, it was, it was, it was the longest night of my life It was, it was, it was...) Even I can't recall how many days I have been out there For when all those lights cease to shine, It was a lie I think for the first time. Infinity it falls, in feathery folds but she bites like loveless eyes, But with her belly full she called this rite of passage, It was the longest night of my life. (It was, it was, it was, it was the longest night of my life It was, it was, it was...)
Beautiful song! It brings me the feeling that the boy/man, once lost, finally joined and embraced his existence in the pack after that mysterious rite. Seems to me a song about a great surrender. At the end of the day, I just interpreted myself.hehe
GAWD, Brandon is just so...sensual. This SONG is. The album is amazing. I love when bands go off the beaten path and do something completely different from not only what they did before, but different from what everyone else is doing. It's not mediocre. It's just not what people EXPECTED.
From the man directly, "The song is our homage to the pop songs of yester-morrow. Referencing the deservedly ubiquitous artists of our parents' generation, we are here attempting to craft an artisan's clock. A piece that ticks effortlessly on the strength of its good design, its beauty and its simplicity. Herein a young girl, after so many failed attempts at love, has resigned herself to a "road of least resistance."
I just saw them live in Foxwoods last night and when they played this song and he would sing "it was the longest night of my life" it literally gave me chills. Incubus has and will always continue to be amazing.
+BIZE213 it's not just the voice... it's the subtle yet vibrant guitar and bass, the poignant beat of the drum and symbols, and the reflection of those with the mixing and keyboard... can't have such a creative force outside of the whole that is "incubus". Ask Boyd, he will tell you the same thing.
i love incubus, they've never let me down in any of their albums, love the lyrics music voice.. everything.. but i don't think it's out of place to say brandon is way too hot, beautiful and inspiring...
He sounds really awesome live, i've seen them 5 times in my life and they never let me down ,and yes they are evolving their one of the few bands still around from their time and their still making hits,I'll be an incubus fan for life!
I love these guys so much!! they are so amazingly talented and they're amazing people. thank you guys for bringing so much joy to my life for the past 15 years!
First time I saw them live was in 2012, so they were playing lots of "If Not Now, When" content. I venture that this song does not appear a ton any more in their sets, so when I heard it live back in '12, I was like "This performance... I'm gonna hold onto this moment. What a great song!" Saw them again in 2017 after "8" came out, and looked at sets over that whole summer online... never saw "Wolves" in there. What a GREAT SONG, I do hope they get it into this 20-yrs-since-makeyourself tour they are doing now! :)
I saw them live in Chicago at Northerly Island twice. First in 2009, I was seated at the benches, but I was outside the pit area and out of the blue one of the security guards kindly asked if I wanted to enter the front. So, I happily obliged. I was actually wearing a white button-down shirt with the band's name on the back in glow-in-the-dark fabric paint lol. Still, the rest of the night was lit! As for the second time, in 2011, I bought the band's latest album If Not Now, When? at a record store in the suburb Norridge called Rolling Stones. A few months after, Incubus stopped in Chicago once again, same venue. Tom Morello was the opening act. Then, Incubus started their long set. I wore a homemade T-shirt this time with the band's name in the middle. They played most of the songs from the latest album as well as some of their earlier tracks. Energy was high and nothing stopped the audience from rocking!!!!
this guys are extremely awesome when you hear any of their records and you hear they has nothing to do with the older stuffs but they keep amazing us thats priceless these guys are so much more beyond any kida musicians nowadays
Brandon Boyd, criminally underrated vocalist. His range is amazing and just doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
Yeah, this band has a few underrated members. For example, I'm a big fan of their guitar player, Mike Einziger.
@@tawnlr6664Mike is a true genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@sarahreggiani5179 Yes, yes one of the best ever at his instrument.
Best vocal in my feelings❤
José Pasillas is one of the most underated drummers. actually this whole band is underated.
Years... and I can't get over That bass line... 🔥 goosebumps💓
The balls to go out there and perform that type of song in that room. These guys are the best.
Especially on live TV. I'm sure allot of people that don't know them were like.. wtf is this!!?? Lol but this song is genius inside and out. Just like all their music!
You say balls I say talent. They got it.
They did play “Nice to Know You” which is one of their best well known “rock” songs, so I don’t think it’s that deep.
@@rockguitarist8907 what video did you just watch? Nice to know you?
The song starts like a happy silly movie. Then the shit gets dark and you say “ok, we have a song”. Lastly came the crescendo part and it melts your brain. Pure gold from these guys. It fits perfectly as a soundtrack for a Nolan’s warewolf movie.

that breakdown part is an eargasm
the vocal prowess of Brandon, the character of the band, the poetry, the evolution....long live INCUBUS!!!!!
One of the things I like about Incubus is that they make the music that they want to make, not what the record company wants them to make or what fans want them to make.
Agreed! And they knew we'll love every single of it!
I swear on everything I made that same statement to my buddy while we were talking about our musical influences and favorites. That is so profound because the record companies, during the late 90s, just replicated whatever was popular. Hence, Hoobastank, the Incubus-esque knock off. In a interview they say all albums went out the same way and they certainly dont know the lyrics of the songs
As all musicians should do.
He is making love with the microphone... so passionately... damn, how can they be so great!!!
You said what I was just thinking! 🔥
This album is so underrated
I own it
Agreed
Beautiful album
I can't explain the dopamine and intense level of pleasure this song and band gives me! It's so addictive!! And Brandon is so gorgeous but his voice and passion and talent?! I can't! 😍
Love this band. And one of the best tracks on If Not Now, When?❤
The instrumental ending for this song is phenomenal.
Incubus has a real talent for orchestration.
This song is magic 💙, So captivating.
one of the things i love about this band so much is the fact that they do what THEY want to as a band. who else would have the balls (in 2011) to play a 7 and a half minute long song on letterman?! i adore how few fucks they give

Pretty special hey... Very evocative
It's a wondrous song, masterwork. It is a such beauty to listen. It's all there. If this song was a painting, it would be put in a museum.
I hope he paints it one day!!!
Incubus fan since 98' and still counting 2020....this is such a powerful song...
ME FROM 1999 - hit stellar - greatings
Brandon is just....mesmerizing. It's recent performances like this that brought me back to them. I've been a fan for years but now I just can't get enough.
My fave contemporary Incubus track. What a journey!
This song is so good, I thought it sounded like a cover from the 70s. Nope! It's just that good..not to mention the brilliant lyrics. It reaches down to my soul. Thank God for this band 🖤
Damn! I was in a trance watching & listening. Brandon I have no words.
Best song on album. Coming of age and serving your purpose in life.

Stella Coulson Exactly the same thoughts, a Pink Floyd feel
Stella Coulson You are SO right! My favorite part about my favorite band, they constantly evolve and continue to make BEAUTIFUL music!
This song is a masterpiece, and the imagery it conjures up is unfreakingreal.
I love how Brandon is actually FEELING what he's singing. The beat after 3:15 its just awesome too.
"it was the longest night of my lift" give me the chills
Magic!! ❤
What a beautiful song. You can tell they are Pink Floyd fans. People say this band got worse. I think they got better.
Great song. The problem is this was one of the only decent songs on the new album. They can still write great songs, they're just fewer and far between. Light Grenades and INNW just have too many bad songs.
Who says that? They only evolve :P The best way for a band to be.
Matt Brillhart Bad songs for who?
They are artists who try new things and some fans are not use to it. In my opinion it would be far worse if they got stuck in a certain type of music, like The Killers did.

THE BEST IS ICUBUS.
THE REST NEEDS TO DRINK OF THUS.
I was lost but now I am found.
A line was crossed, a vessel run aground.

Gran bel pezzo e grande interpretazione di Brandon - fantastici Incubus. - 👏👏👏👍
This is always has and always what music should be... Brandon is beautiful
My favorite from the album! The lyrics, Brandon's voice, really... ❤
They used to be so rock, they've gentled... though still beautiful... Brandon makes love to the mic
This performance gives me goosebumps all the time!
Diablos, como puede una cancion tener tanto en tan pocos minutos. Majestuoso sin lugar a dudas.
I always liked the band when there singles played on the radio...but I remember being introduced to this song, and was instantly hooked
Beautiful song! It brings me the feeling that the boy/man, once lost, finally joined and embraced his existence in the pack after that mysterious rite. Seems to me a song about a great surrender. At the end of the day, I just interpreted myself.hehe
Best live band on the planet right now. No doubt about!
👌👌👌 still one of the best vocal brandon boyd.

His voice sends shivers up my spine, again and again.

I simply think this song is spectacular
This song is no less powerful to me in 2020 than it was back in 2011. This is my happy place. 💙
crowd is dead , this is such a diverse song and average people just dont feel it
I just saw them live in Foxwoods last night and when they played this song and he would sing "it was the longest night of my life" it literally gave me chills. Incubus has and will always continue to be amazing.
He has a great voice 🎉
This man's voice is amazing. This sounded exactly as it does on the album.
I am loyal to Incubus, will always love their music.
I grew up with this band, child to adulthood..and it fitted perfectly at every phase...thank you guys!
Something's wrong, something's wrong, when it all remains the same.
So face the fire, come into your name.
I like the part that sounds like he's saying ,
" Eve and I, can't recall, how many days I had been out there for " ... vision and awakening....
This is heaven!
Wow....just WOW!
This song just does things to my damn soul his voice is the destiny that leads me to the music i am surrounded by .... TAKE ME AWAY!!!

"Symbols"
I still get the same feeling when I hear there songs today as I did in 1998. Thanks Incubus for making great music that makes me feel alive.
this band has made me a different person, and it was for the better. i am forever indebted to them for that.
i love incubus, they've never let me down in any of their albums, love the lyrics music voice.. everything.. but i don't think it's out of place to say brandon is way too hot, beautiful and inspiring...
The second part of this song is amazing!!!
I love this performance! So right for the time....
One of the best songs, its such an experience Live
Masterpiece.

The sexiest song on their new album

The audience couldn't look any less thrilled to be listening to Incubus! I'd be dancing like a mad woman! I freaking love them!
yep me too ❤ They just don't get it. They don't feel or hear like we do. I wish they did.
rally awesome to see the band's evolution! maybe the most talented group alive.
Bjorn Kasian I agree ...

...something else. His vocals & looks 😍😍
Definitivamente éste es el mejor tema de "If not now, when??"

Saw them 2 weeks ago. Fantastic concert!

MAN, I got chills at 4:21 when he finally opens his eyes for that small moment... DAMN... O_O
EXCELLENT work with the cameras on catching that.
Best song they have ever written, coming from a fan since the SCIENCE days
one of the best songs of INCUBUS so far..
Beautiful song!!
Amazing
This song is my fave so far aside from adolescents and promises, promises. Love the change in tone in the middle.
They did this live in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 23 July. It was mesmerizing!
Amazing Grace
