      One of the great things about this trail is that the whole thing is pretty much traffic free and the trail sections are long enough that you can just ride and watch the world go by without worrying too much about getting lost. It was a very peaceful ride, even when the weather set in a bit.

    Hit many distilleries yet? Surely Loch Drunkie needed a wee dram to toast the name haha........... I'm really liking your editing my friend, seems very seamless from the talky bits to the scenic riding bits and a great sound track to boot (are the first 2 tracks new? I think I've used all these tracks at some point but I definitely have a few go to ones that get more love than others. Loving this route was it May when you did the ride no midges we did NC500 in September and they were a nightmare. I would love to give this a go but not sure of the best way to travel to Inverness from North Devon any thoughts 🤔 have you used Komoot? Anyway I’m addicted watching your films they’re so chilled and beautiful takes me away from the grind of everyday things 😊 thank you

    • @JethroJessop
      @JethroJessop  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I've been up there in midge season on other trips and it was pretty bad. Sweden was even worse sometimes!
      Fortunately they don't seem that interested in me. They land on me but don't seem to bite much or I don't react if they do. Same with ticks.
      Inverness is a mission for you for sure. I'd always choose to do a journey like that on the train but you're looking at a big old journey whatever you decide.
      I did try komoot but I didn't get on with it. This was a few years back but it was too prescriptive with its routes and wouldn't let me plan my own. You just gave it point A and point B and it did the rest. I think you could specify road size and surface but I asked it to plan some routes that I already know the best options for and it did a terrible job.
      I've never found an auto route planner that was up to the task so I use RideWithGPS because it lets you tailor your own in great detail. Once I have a route i export it to Gaia.
      I rarely need turn-by-turn so I just use my phone for navigation
