Authorities deployed water guns across India’s capital New Delhi on November 14, 2023, as toxic smog persisted in cities across the country. While the water guns reportedly reduce air pollution, environmentalists argue they only have a limited effect. New Delhi was ranked by Swiss group IQAir as the world’s most polluted city.

A waste of taxpayers' money. Those water guns only cleans the streets, not the air.
😅😅😅
😂😂
😂😂
Better to control emissions and limit PM10's than to waste valuable water on this band aid scheme.
The men can't control emissions too

And award for pollution goes to india
Greta thunderburger's speech is actually written by an Indian 😂 Being an Indian, I actually laughed when I first heard about it...if greata complains about pollution by China and India, then we can adopt American blacks strategy, crying racism and claim victimhood 😂
China is the single biggest polluter.
That's just a fact

Constant beep, beeep, beep, beeeeep... The noise pollution in Indian cities is also awful. Improving the roads and control systems, so that traffic runs more smoothly, would also help reduce emissions and noise pollution.
You would realised they generally don’t have many traffic signals, even if they do, no one cares, so long I get to go ahead first. And then you realise they don’t even have lanes drawn on the roads 😂
@@vennsim71Not true. There are AI cameras that track traffic violaters and lane markings too. Come out of your 1990s mindset.
Ive seen this going on for a few years. Why do they burn rhe leftovers from the crops instead of recycling? If its the cost, why doesnt the govt step in?
It's our culture
incompetent government.
Recycling cost money. Burning doesn’t. Profit driven mindset for Indian industries doesn’t allow recycling to flourish. Sustenance and subsistence farming wise, folks generally are too poor to afford recycling or modern agriculture methods. And of course, the usual suspect, traditional mindset.
Laziness
Same thing happened to vietnam and mexico
same mindset
They are on a much smaller scale as compared to India though. River wise maybe Indonesia is comparable to the high levels of pollution… air wise, guess india is in a league of its own…
Thanks SCMP for the news on real india.
Maybe ban funeral pyres and burning of crop fields, adopt or speed up transition to EV. Where is that high speed rail that Japan has been building for the last decade??? The streets are packed with polluting cars. So many challenges and all Modi wants to do is tax everything foreign even if those imports can significantly help in the EV transition.
Our corruption is sky high. Please understand
Modi is just a lapdog of Ambani and Adani...his only motive is to grab the absolute power and not at all interested in developing India
You must be talking about China where 96% of their ground water is toxic.
Japan building? Lol its India building and Japan supervising. Unless crop burning is stopped this problem won't stop.
Wait wait wait the water gun can make a wanderful events for every hody
pretty bizarre - hope it helps but I doubt it will make much difference.
yes we still can't get rid of our body odor. Having shower with soap only lasts 1 hour
Maybe add dawn soap
Better to invest in public transports and filters and abandon unnecessary cars in the city Center.
I have to admit, news on india is the most entertaining to watch. Everyone laughs and nobody gets hurt. Thanks for the news SCMP.
