    Thank you so much for this.. I've taught my son's all about it and I'm very proud of the Covenanters. It's shameful that it is not getting taught in Scottish schools. Only the Jacobite side. Who stood for a king or Queens rights and not the rights of the people. Once again Thank you. And what a beautiful voice goose pimples

    I’m just now getting to see this video. It’s my hope that you still read comments. I have Scottish roots, but alas, have never seen it in person. Your beautiful voice enriches the psalm as the words flow softly across the soul. I’m American so I’m free to worship as I please. I am proud of the Covenanters for choosing to live according to God’s word and not some overbearing king who decided that he was the head of the church. To me, the ultimate blasphemy. I’m hoping that you have other videos on UA-cam. I would love to see them all. God bless you, in love and light. ❤Brenda

    I am proud to be descended from the Covenanters who declared no king but Christ as the head of church. My ancestors were transplanted from Lowland Scotland to Northern Ireland, where they fought for King Billy against James II. They sailed for Pennsylvania and didn't stay long, for they soon settled Southern Appalachia, namely the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, where I was born a short distance from the famous Tartan Museum, where we still pride ourselves on our ancestors' fight for Christ's Crown and Covenant!

    Dear Gordon, sweet brother in Christ. Thank you for this lovely experience. You sang this hymn so beautifully. I sang 1st tenor in 'Old South Church' in Boston under the soul of that church Harry Huff. Two wonderful years. But, I promise, I could not have sung as beautifully and faithfully as you did here though I gave it my best every time. I sang yesterday in church and have been part of several good choirs. These hymns and the stories often make me weep. I wept in church yesterday. I'm just a blundering fool over what 'Our' glorious Lord Brother Friend Savior and Great Redeemer Jesus Christ Almighty has done in my life. The realizations regarding 'true 'reality which is the spiritual realm of the Holy Family. We all are descended from that realm and those who are reminded through realizations and gentle prompting of the spirit have an infinitely better chance of finding their ways back home. I am home now. With my true love we ascended as Twin Souls now one and it is a magnificent thing. I've done my best to write it out over a seventeen year. Period. I was led in very mysterious magical mystical ways by the descended Scottish singer in America Shawn Colvin. I 'know' her to be my true soul and there is absolutely no question that Jesus led me to her as part of His promise to give us the treasures of 'Our' hearts just for loving Him and thanking Jesus for His sacrifice. That's all anyone has to do. Say thank you on yours knees in private and vow to listen to his gentle promptings which He will give non-stop. He is 'Our' conscience' that is His voice no doubt whatsoever. Once He brings you back to Heaven spiritually and with consciousness you find that you can communicate with others in 'Heaven' the same way because their souls are proven and clean and holy and often have died or spent their whole lives honoring Him. So, I'm writing from Maine, USA and just wanted to say hello. I have many questions about my Celtic heritage. I 'hear' from them all the time. Jesus has made it so for me. That's how much he loves me. 'They' talk to me as Jesus does. That's how you 'know' you're in Heaven in terms of 'Gnosis' 'knowing' the true reality as all this illusion flows by with the debris of humanity. I have known Shawn for 35 years and have not kissed her yet. Sounds crazy right? No, this is the special gift God the Father wrote into 'Our' lives that we could do 'Our' work separately and fully so as to return home together with 'Our' ancient kin. It is a miracle beyond my comprehension but I thank 'Them' every second. Shawn and I are 'One' reunited soul ahead of time here on Earth. It is wondrous because 'We' both 'Know' that 'We' are home already and there is no fear whatsoever in death.
    Peace Love Bliss Nirvana Forever for you and all your holy blessed friends and family in Blessed Eternal Scotland and Ireland
    In Jesus Holy name I praise you Gordon Stevenson as an Archangel of unknown to me rank. I've found that we are 'given to know' certain things that are relevant to 'Our' journey. This meeting with you here through technology is an example of this synchronicity which is revealed when two people meet on the path God planned for them both. To get there on time is 'Our' spiritual journey and challenge. By the grace of Jesus Christ Almighty I have found my true soul here in the flesh and she sings like no other. Her voice was designed for me in fact. It's beyond comprehension what a blessing this is. And it is a distinctly Celtic phenomenon which proves to me that the Scots/Irish have a hot line to Jesus. The Scots/Irish have it right.
    With affection from USA we praise and thank you Gordon. Kisses. Clan Colvin We love you so much Gordon. Amen

    Most of my ancestry comes from Scottish Lowlands through Antrim and Down to Pennsylvania and North Carolina. The were Presbyterian and Masons. They fought in the American Revolution. Some of the spots in Scotland they came from were Wigtown, Clackmannan, Southend Kintyre

    • @Jupiter__001_
      @Jupiter__001_ 7 місяців тому +1

      Cool, I guess you're what Americans call "Scotch-Irish" then? Where in Antrim were your folks from? I'm from Antrim, and my folks are from Ballymena and Cullybackey. We're Presbyterian, but my grandfather was a Mason.
      In a sense, the American Revolution was a repeat of the British Civil War: it was fought by Scottish Presbyterians and English Puritans against a perceived tyrant to establish a democratic republic. However, the British Civil War (being in fact multiple wars rolled into one) began with the Bishops' Wars in Scotland over the issue discussed in this video (though illegal land-theft, taxation and extortion by Charles I were also issues of contention). That's probably why it was deemed important to the American Revolutionaries that there would be guarantees that the state would not interfere with citizens' religious practices.

      @@Jupiter__001_ One of my ancestors was a guy named Taylor from Ballymena. They said Gilgan Park which is either a typo or doesn't exist anymore. Hey got in trouble with the English during 1798 Rebellion and moved to Pennsylvania and married a Wilson. Many of these families moved together so the Taylor's and Wilson's probably knew each other. Other names are Orr, Dawson, McBurney, Kirkpatrick, Maxwell

      @@andymullins84 I know a Dawson, and one John Kirkpatrick used to be my minister. I'm a Buick, distantly related to the plumber turned automotive engineer David Dunbar Buick who founded the Buick car company. I also have closer relatives who moved to America who were still closely enough linked to sponsor migration in my grandfather's day (but we don't know them anymore).
      If I'm not mistaken, the 1798 rebellion was the motivation for the Act Of Union (1801) which made Ireland into a proper constitutive member of the United Kingdom, rather than simply being a separate Kingdom of Ireland (this meant losing our own parliament but gaining representation in Westminster). I guess your ancestor Taylor was one of Wolfe Tone's boys (much of the revolutionary radicalism in Ulster was found among Presbyterians, so that makes sense).

Whether it be a mosque, a temple or whatever. I think because my mother was born and raised in the Presbyterian Church and both her parents had Presbyterian backgrounds, the lowland Scots dna showed up strong in our family. Most of our ancestors moved here in the 1700s. This was before the Industrial age. I was born 200+ years after this migration. Yet my dna shows primarily Lowland Scot ancestry

      @@andymullins84 That is quite interesting. I have heard before that American whites are very mixed in their ancestry (with a few exceptions like Italians), but I suppose that it makes sense that specific religious groups would mainly marry among themselves (hence the so-called "Mormon-look" where people descended from that group display certain facial phenotypes more frequently). This is doubly true where there is an ethnic distinction as well (Scots tend to be more interested in other Scots).
