    His ability to Defend, Rebound, Shoot, Energize, Pass, Dunk, Block and understanding the fundamentals of this beautiful game demands respect of any true Basketball fan. His love, passion and tenacity for the game is incomparable.

    When I was growing up. I could never watch a full game. KG literally made me get up and go outside to play ball. He gave me so much energy from just watching him. Full sweat just from his warm up drills. He was coming to eat your heart out. The intensity was so real I couldn’t sit in the house anymore. No other player had this effect on me.

He never demanded a trade from that team even when they were awful during his final years. You're not alone - I'm not from Minnesota, but KG was and still is my all-time favorite. The man could do everything on the court, he loved his team's community, (both in Minnesota and Boston, I admit I didn't follow the Brooklyn years super-close) stayed mostly-if-not-completely free of controversy and legal trouble throughout his career, and even towards the end he was still playing at a well-above-average level. I realize he doesn't have as much hardware as a lot of the more talked-about folks in GOAT conversations, but that's sure as shit not his fault.

      Trough the KG years,Minesotta was never a top 5 defense in the league as far as point allowed go. In 2000-01 season they were ranked 14 in points allowed,the next year they ranked 16th,then they were at number 18 and only in 2003-04 all the way trough 2005-06 the were a bit batter because they ranked 7th,then 9th and in 2005-06 they were at number 8. They were average most of the time and pretty good in KG's prime years but never elite. There are some people who think everything used to be better but once you people are presented with real statistics you don't know what to say anymore. I garantee you that people who played in the 80's or watched basketball in the 80's,they all tough that basketball in 2005 was soft. PS : All the stats are from basketball reference under the Minnesota Timberwolves team index.

    • @Reeferal
      @Reeferal 8 років тому +16

      Stats are skewed in some ways regarding defence due to rule changes. Zone defence was prohibited back in the day. On the flip side hand checking and more physical play was allowed. That's on both side of the ball though. Less offensive and defensive fouling, but more iso and man to man defence.
      It's safe to say there wouldn't be anywhere near as many successful point guards if the rules never changed however guys like Lebron may have been even more successful because they'd be allowed to be more physical and wouldn't have to contend with zones.

    • @armin38822

      Karl Anthony Towns. KG has been mentoring him all year long and probably will continue doing so even after retirement. He's in a perfect situation, great young talent around him, great coach in Thibodeao and a great fucking mentor in KG. So we don't have to wait another 10 years, the next KG already is here and he's playing in Minnesota ironically enough.

      I see more of KG in Anthony Davis then I do KAT tbh, the quickness, length, hand speed, ick and pop midrange jumpshot, and defensive ability. KAT is more of a inside post/ pick and pop/ good passer. But defensively he's nothing close to KG

      Naaaaah it gotta be that African American center that got dunked on by MJ I forgot his name tho

      Tcole2 oh the black person that MJ dunked on.. that narrows it down to about 98 % of the people in the NBA that it could have been

      +RayMysteryo I like the sarcasm. But if we use common sense, find key terms, and connect the dots, maybe it won't be 98% which is still false. I said African American center. With just that we can rule out any other position and race. Then if you really think about it I would have been talking about one of his most famous posterizers. Which (by the help of google) narrows it down to a center named Mutombo. Thanks for the help tho
