La Réunion is the most beautiful island that I have ever seen ! I also went over the Col du Taibit with my children. It's a place I loved. It's not easy to find good weather to walk on Piton de la Fournaise, but it's so beautiful when the sun appears at the top! Thank you again for your magnificent videos, full of finesse and sensitivity.

My fascination with earth has me at times on Google earth spinning the planet and zooming in to any random area. Doing that I came across this beautiful island. It used to cost filmmakers millions just in helicopter rentals for shots that cost next to nothing nowadays. Huge shout outs to the inventors of the GO PRO and the DRONE . Hope they're rich and filthy for bettering all videos. And kudos to UA-cam's who make great videos using them !!

There are great options like sun hoodies, sun gloves and long trousers which cool not weigh you down. Sun cream will likely not be enough. Permanent sun exposition is one of the main reasons why people get skin cancer. I don't want to see this happen to you. I'm looking forward to all your upcoming adventures. 🥳

Have you considered hiking in the Wind River range in Wyoming? I've lived in the states my whole life and have seen hiking videos including yours from all over the country (as well as visited many of the most popular national parks) and the Wind Rivers have always seemed the most interesting (more than the sierras or cascades or other rocky mountain ranges). They're most similar to the Yosemite with the granite and million lakes but the rock formations and landscapes seem so much more otherworldly. They're much lesser known and are not a national park so they get less exposure on social media but I'd love to see someone with the production value and attention to detail that you have make a trip there to show it off.

Harmen, I almost postponed my backpacking trip to the Red River Gorge Geological Area in Kentucky because your premier was coming out yesterday. As I started my 2 solo day trek, I hiked along the towering sandstone cliffs and thought... "How would Harmen capture this scene"? I laughed and thought "who am I kidding! You somehow combined your amazing one of a kind treks with the most incredible footage. Every choreographed scene is astonishing! You are in a league of your own and I'm honored to be able to witness not only Reunion Island but all of your impeccable motion pictures, Bravo!

Thank you for the nice words! I am working on long form ASMR versions of the films. I feel like just adding them together as if doesn't really add anything compared to a playlist. But maybe I'm wrong?
@@HarmenHoekcreating a separate video with a fitting title can make it easier for people searching specifically for ASMR or ambient hiking content to find it. It's nicer to not have to switch between videos because the pause can be a distraction. Adding them together would be fine IMO, but some editing might be needed to help each segment fit together better. Anyway these are just my thoughts, make it in the way that feels the best to you!

I'm from Reunion Island, there is no snake in Reunion or dangerous animals that can hurt you very badly..maybe just mosquitos haha

I was born on the island next door: Mauritius. But I have never been to Reunion. Now thanks to you I realize how beautiful that place is. You videography is one of the best I’ve seen. I like that you don’t dub any music into it and let us immerse ourselves into the sound of nature. Thank you for sharing.
This is exactly what I want to do when I am older. The sweeping shots of the island and how small one human is in comparison almost made me cry. The world is beautiful, and I can’t wait to explore it when I am able to!

May I give you an advice: please, please take care of your skin and cover it sufficiently to protect it from the sun. There are great options like sun hoodies, sun gloves and long trousers which cool not weigh you down. Sun cream will likely not be enough. Permanent sun exposition is one of the main reasons why people get skin cancer. I don't want to see this happen to you.

Have you considered hiking in the Wind River range in Wyoming? I've lived in the states my whole life and have seen hiking videos including yours from all over the country (as well as visited many of the most popular national parks) and the Wind Rivers have always seemed the most interesting (more than the sierras or cascades or other rocky mountain ranges). They're most similar to the Yosemite with the granite and million lakes but the rock formations and landscapes seem so much more otherworldly. They're much lesser known and are not a national park so they get less exposure on social media but I'd love to see someone with the production value and attention to detail that you have make a trip there to show it off.

You might like to consider the South West National Park in Tasmania, which takes in the ruggedness of the Southern Ocean, and in the same place the Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair National Park. Harmen, I almost postponed my backpacking trip to the Red River Gorge Geological Area in Kentucky because your premier was coming out yesterday. As I started my 2 solo day trek, I hiked along the towering sandstone cliffs and thought... "How would Harmen capture this scene"? I laughed and thought "who am I kidding! You somehow combined your amazing one of a kind treks with the most incredible footage. Every choreographed scene is astonishing! You are in a league of your own and I'm honored to be able to witness not only Reunion Island but all of your impeccable motion pictures, Bravo!

I am working on long form ASMR versions of the films. I feel like just adding them together as if doesn't really add anything compared to a playlist. But maybe I'm wrong?
@@HarmenHoekcreating a separate video with a fitting title can make it easier for people searching specifically for ASMR or ambient hiking content to find it. It's nicer to not have to switch between videos because the pause can be a distraction. Adding them together would be fine IMO, but some editing might be needed to help each segment fit together better. Anyway these are just my thoughts, make it in the way that feels the best to you!
That was exquisite. All of it. The beauty of the different landscapes of the island, the sounds, under the sea at the end, and of course drinking coffee in the midst of it all. Well done again Harmen! And thank you!
