My dad introduced her music to me when I was a girl. Now I sing her songs to my daughter. She lives on.

This is one of my favourite's of Nanci's although I love all her music.
It is just such a powerful song and I too am a "child in the 60's."
It truely is "A Hard Life Where Ever You Go." I totally agree with that.

Such a beautiful and sad song. One song we should all be listening to today especially in our hard times between neighbors, family members, people driving in cars, and lastly politicians. Too much hate and division today everywhere. Please request this song on your local radio station today. I heard it again recently on a Sunday Irish music format show on Sunday (NPR) while driving home and it was very emotional for me. A beautiful song from a beautiful person, Nanci Griffith- may her music and contributions never be forgotten.

New to her music. UA-cam recommended this after watching Sufjan Stevens and The Polyphonic Spree ACL shows. I love her voice and the writing is good.

the lyrics seem profound, and yet the song overall feels pedestrian. makes me sad that it still brings me to tears.
