I wonder why you did not dismount the bridges' pillars from the base, and the bridge from the screw.... I think I have bought an almost identical one, but not in such a bad shape. On the base a piece of dark green paint is left, about 10 mm2 🙂. That very common machine colour I will keep. l will combine it with black, red striping and maybe chrome plated nuts.

I couldn't easily disassemble these parts and it didn't have a major effect on the ease of cleaning.
