  • After completion of this video session, it is expected that you will be able to:
    Describe external features of the cerebellum: hemispheres, vermis, vallecula, flocculus, nodule, tonsil, cerebellar sulci and folia, superior and inferior medullary velum.
    Locate the fissures: posterolateral (dorsolateral), primary, and horizontal
    Identify the peduncles: superior, middle and inferior cerebellar peduncles
    Identify the anatomical lobes: flocculonodular, anterior, and posterior lobes
    Identify the functional regions of the cerebellum: vestibulo-cerebellum, spinocerebellum, and ponto-cerebellum.

    You said middle cerebellar peduncle connects the Pons to the midbrain, you meant to the cerebellum I think.

    Do the arbor vitae and the folia make up the vermis?

      Arbor vitae is the appearance of the vermis in longitudinal section so it is part of the vermis. Cerebellar folia are present everywhere around the cerebellum and are not an exclusive feature of the vermis.
