9:17 why is it 1/(x+2) if the two (x+1)'s cancelled each other out, is there something I missed because, I thought it was supposed to be the other way around (x+2)/1.

It's much easier to think of subtracting indices rather than finding a factor ie x^5 - x^2= x^3
