man this game is brilliant. A Larger playthrough would be amazing, especially as every single playthrough is different! the nemesis system leads to completely unique scenarios for every creator who covers it, just dont focus on the main story - the orcs are the best part of the game by far
It's the first game with more convolution, more cutscenes, and not enough good pacing. You start getting into it and BAM! Cutscene, to take you out of the action. I just want to play the game, not watch movies. I hate this trend in gaming. "We spent thousands on making these cutscenes and dammit, you're going to watch them whether you want to or not!"
Replayability isn't really that great. The story doesn't change, and your actions are linear, all leading to one goal and no branching storylines. It's really not THAT great.
@@aiden_macleod Replayability is not always about storyline. I specifically mentioned the nemesis system. The story might be the same but the orcs you come across are all unique that's why you can replay the game especially if you change difficulties. I personally still enjoy the game.
@@aiden_macleod Why are you just in all of these comments hating on the game? If you like it so much less than the first, why bother even clicking on the video?
The nemesis system is good in theory but only works great if you die a lot; I’d recommend going up to the highest difficulty if you haven’t already, it makes individual fights a bit more annoying but can overall make the story much more interesting
There are a lot of hidden mechanics and things to do to get the most out of the game. For example, the devs said that the deciding factor for cheating death and designating your nemesis is just how many times you interact with the orc, not necessarily dying to them. Obviously you’re right when it comes to the grunt promotion aspect.
@@greasey8695 fair, but 99% of the time you interact with an orc you'll either die to them, dominate them or kill them. To interact with them you've gotta run away which is just as rare as dying on the easier difficulties
Totally would be down to see a play thru, this games nemesis system is sick. Orc captains all are randomly generated and have unique personalities that only develop further as the player interacts with them. From losing to them, dominating them, traumatizing them, even killing them. Like the starter area gets you used to combat, but the game gets wild as you free progress to the end. Nobodies play thru is the same, because all the orc encounters are so different.
Here's some games for you: Star wars the Force Unleashed 1 and 2 Darksiders series Heavenly Sword Prototype 1 and 2 Splatter house Mortal Kombat shaolin monks I also fondly recall an old turn based Lord of the Ring game on ps2, but forgot the subtitle
Watching this makes me want to get back into playing this game again, I only got about 20 hours into the game or so and felt like I'd not even scratched the surface of what this game has to offer and I know it was a badass game combat feels very good.
I'm so excited that you are playing this game, it's one of my favorites and for your question about the orcs (uruk) whatever, no two people will have the same exact orc out of the generated ones, there are a couple in everyone's game but the rest are only for you, makes a really cool system for nemesis's and bodyguards. My recommendation is to try and find a troll with curse perks.
Heads up Mythymoo, the ending of this game (from the dlc stuff) is officially canon to Lord of the Rings. That’s right Talion and his actions were made officially canon.
This game is extremely unique as the nemesis system makes each orc unique and grow stronger alongside you. I honestly recommend harder difficulties as you can see more and more of the orcs as you battle them
Brutal is the best difficulty tbh since I was killing 60+ orcs when i was still level 10 lol, you die in 1-3 hits all the time but you can actually put a dent in all orcs Fuck defenders though fr
Well this is about to be fun, I recently just bought it and started playing just yesterday. Now all of the sudden youre making a video out of this game. Nice !
Please do a play through!! The game and combat is fun and gets even better with more skills. Also the orc system is one of the coolest and most unique in games and well worth exploring more!
Yes play more of this game pls, I love this game I've played through it three times now and every time it was a unique play through, It would be very enjoyable to watch you do a playthrough and have your own unique experience, I think you will really like this game, like others have said the story isn't amazing but it's not terrible in my opinion but I love LOTR lore and the entire LOTR world so pretty much anything LOTR I'm down for, but the story isn't where its at, it's the nemesis system and fighting the different captains and overlords you come across throughout the game, overall I 100% recommend this game.
So, allow me to introduce you to the Nemesis system. The gimmik that has made this game so great. Basically, the orc commanders you fight will most of the times survive (even if you kill them in the fight) and then come back looking for you some time later, stronger and meaner
It's an amazing game. I've played through the entirety(even the end game grind) multiple times. The true ending with the music made it all worthy. Those who've finished the game know the feeling. Please please please do a full walkthrough
Love this game I just got back into it myself. The uniqueness of all the captains, war chiefs, and overlords is still amazing and so interesting. Sure there are similarities between them but it is hard to run into the same or even close to same one twice… unless he comes back from the dead like they tend to do lol
I am replaying the game right now, waiting for Endwalker, and is BETTER than I remember. It's just so good on every level and the Nemesis system is absolutely insane.
This game is on my top 5 favorite games for sure ive played it so many times, im just waiting to see if they make a sequel, it would be dope if you made a series of this game i recommend it
The game just gets better and better, there is so much fun and intriguing content. Wish the nemesis system wasn’t claimed so that other games could utilize it
Fun fact, the same actor that voiced Mimir from God of War, voices Celebrimbor in both Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. I really hope you finish this masterpiece of a game.
Love the game choice, the combat in these games is so fluid and fun. You're awesome myth, looking forward to this one. Also, please finish bioshock infinite, the story is phenomenal
Dang! You just reminded me how good the combat is in this game. So satisfying, I spent like 100+ hours in this game... I might need to reinstall and play it again after this 😅
I recently played through to completion. Really good game. It’s a shame about the controversy at release but a few years later and I now consider it one of my favourites.
I'm not even the biggest Lord of the Rings fan but these games are something else. If you enjoy these batman type of combat games I would definitely check out Mad Max in the future. I'm not sure if it holds up to today's standards, I don't think it did when it was released, but has always had a soft spot in my heart. Vehicle combat, do I have to say anything else?!
Love how he called the game shadow of Mordor (the first game, equally as great) while playing the 2nd game, shadow of war. Great video though loved watching it!
In terms of difficulty, brutal is the best way to go. It’s the challenge of Gravewalker without the obnoxious inflated health. I would love to see a full play through of this game.
