I listen to this track pretty much daily. Ralph Mooney seems to be being forgotten amongst names of other pioneeri g steel masters. I love emmons too, along with a list of others far too ling to list and Buddy deserves all the adulation he gets x10, but moon does too. Not only for tracks like crazy arms and collaboration projects, but the the waylors sound, the waylon jennings unmistakable, one of a kind sound is built around moon every bit as much as "the driving bass line" and waylons own unique lead playing. Leave it to Marty to always point you in the direction of the epitome of all thjngs musical. Speaking of folks who dont get the love they deserve... Marty. The coolest cat since the OG cool afficionados like Cash and Waylon.
Wow! Expert level picking! This has everything!! Double stops, pedal steel licks, hybrid picking, chicken picken and incredible feel!! I'm late to this party but I'm definitely going to watch the rest of your video's Awesome!!
I want to say that your fills are JUST as good as your licks and passages. As soon as I hear thoses fills I know to sit back and listen NOW. The funny thing is that Im a drummer and the only fill you need to know is Phil Rudd. Thank You so much for posting this because most of us will get good watching.
That's exactly what I'm doing right now ! That's a great cover. This guy is skilled and that was really nice to hear and a great moment for me to enjoy!
Its amazing to think that Brent Mason probably laid that track down on the fly after getting comfortable with the song a few rounds. There are loads of interesting different licks in this song. And you sir do a fine job of playing it as well!
@@michaelmowbray4677 most of those guys like Brent lay down a track, then never do it again, but they can be a one take player.......think Reggie Young
Well, I'm a real dummy when it comes to music, BUT, I can hear, and Marty's got some great sounds coming out of that guitar. Always amazed at the talent some people have. Thanks for sharing!! What a player, WOW!!!
Pretty sure most of the Alan recorded stuff was Brent Mason on guitar, and he definitely gets recognition from the music world. one of the most recorded guitarist in country music
Yeah Brent mason is 99% of anything you hear from 90s to 2015 it’s really incredible. Man single handedly created a genre. Even to date he’s still doing loads of people’s studio lead. For example post malones new country record. Love it or hate it there’s same spankin guitar solos in there courtesy of Mr Mason the legend himself.
Jimmy Fitch it was prob an equaliser with the settings left to right 1st one up full, 2nd one fully down, 3rd one fully up, 4th one fully down etc and that gives you a kinda dobro effect i think here, i use an mxr resonator pedal
I play that note for note the way you do? You havent by any chance been watching ken carlesons videos have you as i feel as if i was playing that 😂 great playing mate keep it country as its in the soul 🤠🤠🤠
I learned it yrs ago when it first hit the radio waves, but I do watch everyone I can and pick up loads of licks from them. Thank you @memmnock kind words and yes it's definitely in the soul!

I have always thought that Alan Jackson's lead guitarist doesn't get enough recognition, nor does the lead guitarist for Dwight Yokem.
Pretty sure most of the Alan recorded stuff was Brent Mason on guitar, and he definitely gets recognition from the music world. one of the most recorded guitarist in country music

Playing through an EVH amp? Great post!
is this a backing track or Alan Jacksons recording? If its not...where is the source of the backing track?
Hi Chris, yes this is a backing track. Created in a studio jam.
Just curious about what effects you are using. Sounds great.
nice!
Damn son, you got Brent Mason down. I wish I could play like this
Просто супер ❤
Did you find Micky on the mantle mercury?
Did you use a graphic eq pedal for the dobro solos or was it a phaser? Great pickin!
Jimmy Fitch it was prob an equaliser with the settings left to right 1st one up full, 2nd one fully down, 3rd one fully up, 4th one fully down etc and that gives you a kinda dobro effect i think here, i use an mxr resonator pedal
Yes.
Graphic Eq
