This is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door!
The game everyone loves and loves to tell you about how much they love it. If you've been here for a while you might have noticed we like it quite a bit too. Though usually our playthroughs are some kind of challenge run where we skip all text to get to the gameplay. BUT NOT THIS TIME!
This playthrough is part of our out of order conquest to casually relive all Paper Mario games, together with my co-comm Lenny! Just in time for the remake to get a good feel of what's changed from a more casual perspective!
Like usual; if there's any cool secrets, obscure or funny dialogue and details you know about, be sure to tell us in the comments or on Discord. I know a lot about this game, but I don't know literally everything! Also I might just forget certain things.

Here is a good joke: what if you guys continued this series on the remake, like, with no segway, nothing; you just immediately go into chapter 5-6 of the remake without worrying about the other chapters.
Channel goes silent for a week and then next episode is in the remake. While incredibly funny, probably not good for UA-cam.
That would be a fun idea. Though they'd need the time to play the remake and get up to that point before the next upload.

I’m really hoping Ms. Mowz is buffed in the remake, like having Love Slap do 5-6 damage when fully upgraded or allow her to attack and steal from spiky enemies. But I’m not holding my breath… Probably she’ll just have her moves actually recover SP now
In this part, we get Ms Mowz and finish off the last few troubles before Chapter 5! Despite Ms Mowz being infamous for how bad she is, she's still fun to bring along for the adventure.
If her Love Slap still has negative crowd impact in the remake I will laugh so hard.

This is the part of the game where I got about 20 Power Rush badges and steamrolled the game because I have 0 morals or honour.
I don't think Hooktail died, she probably just woke up at some point and left
Considering I've never done Pianta Parlor or any of the side quests, this is a nice way to see the challenges or side material that I probably won't do anytime soon.

Okay I always thought I'm missing something out in the plane game as you only get around +2-4 coins every try if you shouldn't touch the x2-panel. It felt weird to me to get so little out of this game.
I also remember struggling with the paper game as I never paid attention to the fans on my small tv. I always wondered why I fell off after some time and couldn't figure it out.

Fun Fact: I have not played the literal GB classic Pokémon games. Only ones from Gen 3 thru 8.
Just knowing stuff like Abilities weren’t there and having Leaf Green and Soul Silver experiences kept me from going back to find the classics even on Virtual Console or any other method.

It might have something to do with getting Ms. Mowz before Bobbery. The game may not expect you to have her first, since you need Bobbery to get the Up Arrow from Hooktail's Castle. And that's normally what I've done, getting both items in one run instead of taking two trips out there.

Hell, they haven't even gotten to Keelhaul Key, and considering they'll probably Tattle every character and area...yeah, they ain't beating this before the remake comes out.

Honestly I thought for a while the trunks were essentially the discreet bara variant of used panties but now that I know more about Goomfrey, I'm starting to think he does use it as a chloroform for his other "jobs"

I always assume in these kid-friendly games, you never “kill” anything, so that comment about Hooktail is not too far off
I feel like the slot machines being replaced with SMB3 picture match games will top the Plane Game for Pianta gains.
I'm a little surprised that all of this side content wasn't just skipped over and saved for the remake in hindsight. I guess it makes it easier to compare the two games if everything's fresh. Here's hoping for a new trouble center that isn't extremely tedious.
