    Very nice! Don't have a press so I just do it the old fashioned way with microfiber cloth. Thanks for showing us man! Looks really good!🙂👍🏻

    Yes it’s true about the snap it kept me from buying it I was gonna get the 5 blade silver script today and passed all because of the snap

      @@RAZORRESULTSenjoythecut The springs look identical, I wonder if it has to do with the geometry of the sheepsfoot and spey blade tang? 👍🏻😎

      @ I thinks so it’s a very light pull unsatisfying for a case guy such as my haha , I’ve been handling the vintage case xx and I can tell very easily that it’s just not the same but nevertheless nice video!! The polishing process you use has greater outcome than hand polish.

    Hey. I'll give you a very precise answer. The clip spring on the Large Stockman is weaker. The clip spring on my Mini Trappers is stronger or sometimes equally strong. On my Medium Stockman, they are all equally strong. On my Copperhead, the pen spring is slightly stronger. And on my large Trapper, the Spey spring is a touch stronger. I'd say it's all a coincidence.

    • @NewAgainKnifeReviews
      @NewAgainKnifeReviews  18 годин тому +1

      @@WZ13 it might be. What made me wonder is that every sow belly I've ever seen is identical in that regard 😎

      @WZ13 18 годин тому

      @@NewAgainKnifeReviews You would have to know someone who works there. Maybe that's the way it is with that type of knife. But I don't think so. Why would it be like that? Coincidence.

      @WZ13 I wonder if it has something to do with the way that the sheep's foot blade rides so high, if the geometry changes the spring tension?

    • @WZ13
      @WZ13 16 годин тому

      @ I would like to know where the spring tension comes from. The geometry of the blade or the curvature of the back spring.

    • @NewAgainKnifeReviews
      @NewAgainKnifeReviews  16 годин тому +1

      @WZ13 I think both play a part. There is a slight difference between "tension" how much force it takes to close the knife. And "closing snap" how hard/fast the blade closes.
      I think the shape of the tang can really affect closing snap

    I find Flitz works best for my knives and also gun parts. My method of polishing is the same as yours but I use a bench grinder with a cloth wheel, but a drill press is a good alternative as well. Thanks for sharing. What oil do you use to lubricate your knives? I typically use mineral oil as I often use my knifes with food. Thanks,

    Awesome video, sir. Do you find pinching the boltsters down tighter improves the spring strength at all in your experience?

    • @NewAgainKnifeReviews
      @NewAgainKnifeReviews  День тому +1

      @@Lunarpreparedness I have never noticed one way of the other. I figured it would be more likely to hinder snap because of the blade being held tighter?
      What do you think?

    • @Lunarpreparedness
      @Lunarpreparedness День тому +1

      @NewAgainKnifeReviews so, I clamped the bolsters down on a couple Rough Ryder knives and one Case Trapper because of blade wobble, and in all three instances, it noticeably improved the snap. But none of these were stockman patterns.

      @NewAgainKnifeReviews  День тому +1
