    The mannerisms we're on point, the ending gave me chills. I seen an interview with Donnie and he was asked who he thought would win between Bruce and him. He said he would never fight Bruce because he was his idol.

    I have being a Bruce Lee fan all of my life, when i was a teenager i trained like crazy and i was so obsessed with him. Believe it or not i dreamed about fighting him and i was never able to hit him, and before i wake up he told me "you have to learn to read your opponent" it was amazing. I was 18 at that time.

    even though this was an animation, the mannerisms were astounding despite it being so much slower than either of them are. When Master Lee disappeared at the end, and Master Yen was left in an empty dojo, I cried. The man the myth, the true Dragon resting in peace, and along with him... his amazing son. Had they both lived, this world would be so different. R.I.P. Master Lee, we will see you in our dreams.

    I'm having a hard time deciding which fighter's style I think I'd like to adopt. Donnie's is certainly fancier and wouldn't be impossible to emulate, but Bruce's looks more practical and what one would use to fight someone in real life.

      Well if you pay close attention both fighter have flashy styles. But keep in mind that they are still serious martial artists. If you look at sparring matches that both have done the flashy and the play isn't really there. They reserve it for their movies. But in a real fight you can bet your left butt cheek they would't give a flip about using flashy attacks.

      Roll Fizzlebeef
      I think most MA fighters could/would agree that it is more-so on the fighter themselves, and not the art. Any and every style is only going to give you a set of techniques. It is all up to you, once you're in the heat of a fight, to win. MMA fighters, or any professional fighter, wins regular altercations because they know exactly what to do once they are confronted. If one doesn't, no matter what style they know, they're going down.
      Of course, there are styles that are more effective than others. But, that doesn't mean that those less-effective styles are useless.
      Side Note: Most of the time, TMA are considered less effective because they aren't learned properly. Most TMA were created by soldiers or people who dedicated their entire life to learning and mastering their styles. Today, because of numerous reasons, we don't have the time or drive to properly learn those styles (not saying our lack of time is a bad thing. But, it is what it is...). Modern MA are more effective because they are quicker...

I say it ends up in a draw. Remember Donnie did play Bruce in a few movies once. So he kinda has that Pacquiao movements he fights in and out with angles. I have always wondered, Why Chinese martial arts films have never adopted Bruce's style of film, (Very little effects and just fighting) instead they use the over the top,flying/ super fighting, You would think with how great Bruce was that they would make films more like Bruce, its strange

    • @darkdrake13
      @darkdrake13 10 років тому +23

      what? ever since bruce's death the best kung fu movies have been just that. Compare the old films with flying people fighting in trees to the movies that came after him. Jet li's kiss of the dragon, fearless, the defender , unleashed , fist of legend, donnie yen's ip man movies, flashpoint, legend of the fist jackie chan's drunken master series, rumble in the bronx, snake in the eagles shadow etc. , what are you even talking about?

    • @truthguy7577
      @truthguy7577 10 років тому +12

      Budo Jutsu Actually, if you knew the history of Hong Kong/Chinese martial arts films, you would know that after Bruce Lee, ALL films were either Bruceploitations or flying swordsman type. It wasn't until recently that many began to re-incorporate some sort of realism into the industry. Anyway, the films you describe are a product of this return to basics. However, you're missing the point. The point is Bruce established a screen genre that is unique with his ability. Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen and all the rest are just following each other. They can't do what Bruce did.

    • @darkdrake13
      @darkdrake13 10 років тому +2

      you're also missing my point.

    • @truthguy7577
      @truthguy7577 10 років тому +5

      Budo Jutsu Your point is taken, but it's not accurate. Most of the "good" martial arts movies are within this decade. After Bruce Lee, this same industry plummeted back into flying swordsmen and string-fu. Even Jackie Chan and Jet Lie were apart of this charade. As ironic as it sounds, Bruce brought some realism to martial arts films. No ropes, no powers, and flipping around. Just good fight choreography. That's what's missing today.

    • @hongallardo

    Bruce was good for his time. But that was also a time when not a lot of people were doing that sort of thing here yet. Compared to today's martial artists it's basic. But that's what makes him great. He was pioneering his style for the masses of fans. Tbh it's hard to say who would win between these two. They're both very good at what they do

    As vezes tenho a sensação que quando alguém luta uma vida por reconhecimento,as vezes as pessoas fingem ignorar ou são tão ocupadas com suas vaidades que não percebem o empenho do próximo
    Com a morte,parece que a pessoa tem o reconhecimento que tanto buscou, talvez porque não exista mais tempo pra dar o braço a torcer, não sei bem ao certo,mas as pessoas costumam reconhecer o outro após a morte,e isso deveria ser feito em vida
    Agora,o dragão,a sua história de vida é incrível,seus feitos serão lembrados por gerações!
    Meu pai costumava falar que morre o homem e fica o nome!

    No one beats Bruce Lee in his Prime. Every great martial artist who did real combat, street fights, and tournaments all say that he was the greatest ever. He was one of the greatest athletes to ever live and was a great fighter and that's what makes him so deadly. My thing is that, in the real world, there is a lot to be said for sheer power and force. In a real fight, I don't think most martial artist could beat a professional football player or basketball player because they are just better athletes and can generate more force. But Bruce Lee, is just a great athlete, and that matters in a real fight. Breaking bricks and shit is great, but hitting a moving target is a whole other level and that's all reflexes and athleticism and some people have it better than others. It can be trained, yes, but a great natural athlete once trained is going to be better. That's why a martial artist can't beat a lion or a bear in a fight, they are too big and powerful and fast. In a real fight, where there are no rules, the best athlete is usually going to win, and if he is actually trained how to fight, it will be virtually impossible to beat him. Bruce Lee was just a better athlete that 99% of people and in a real fight he is probably going to win.

      Carlisle Greaves a tiger and a bear? they don't win purely on force there enire body's the way they move and attack and there timing all of it is far superior than what any human can produce sure there force helps but u don't see tigers fighting each other with nothing but force they use technique or what we would call martial arts it's how u use your force not how much of it u have

      He had an allergic reaction to the medicine he took, after filming he had a bad headache and wanted to lie down. Doc gave him some medicine, he took a nap, never woke up. The greatest MMA fighter of all time died by an accident. Not by some lost fight, just by a freak accident. He died too soon.

      Yup.. vs. Bruce Lee, those were his moves from Flashpoint. In the earlier fights, like that airborne triple-kick vs the three robots, that was from films like Iron Monkey and In The Line of Duty 4. During the one-vs-many fight, there's a bit of that SPL vibe, from when he was fighting against the three crooked cops.

    People keep saying “well Bruce Lee never had a professional fight, so how do we know he would win against anybody?”
    Look at it like this:
    Fighting starts in your mind before a punch is even thrown.
    And if many “professional“ fighters have stated from their own mouths that Mr Lee would defeat them.. they already tapped out.. and it’s nothing wrong with that. Tyson, McGregor, Mayweather (jr & sr), and many more has given Lee the win.. let em have it!
