As a mom of three...and I just had my last baby on 12/12/18, just want to encourage you.....breastfeeding can be very frustrating and a lot harder then anyone ever makes it seem. Just stick with it even when it seem impossible and make sure you get a lactation nurse ASAP once she’s born. Good luck and I hope your experience is easy.
You can never be over prepared for a baby! You will be glad you have everything ready when she gets here.

Lordy, I have never seen someone so prepared for a baby.
I exclusively breastfed my first three babies, but my fourth was not thriving and had some health issues. I was so thankful for my Spectra S1 pump! I’ve been able to breastfeed, pump, and supplement with a small amount of formula. Now baby boy is one, healthy, and thriving. 😊 Breastfeeding does have a learning curve, but is a precious precious experience! My tip for beginning pumping is to start with a gentle pumping strength. Too strong of suction can lead to pain/soreness. My Brestfriend nursing pillow is my fave! I have a stretchy nursing cover from copper pearl and it’s nice, but if we have another LO I’d like to get a muslin nursing scarf. Muslin material is breathable which keeps you and baby cool/comfortable. Excited for you two!
The cloth diapers for burp cloths are an excellent idea! I used them for the most part with my daughter when she was small, and they were wonderful! Not only as they super absorbent but they are bleachable if they get a little tooo nasty looking. I wasn't able to breastfeed, but my sister did and her favorite covers were just muslin blankets. She found them lightweight (she has a summer baby) and easy to store and use and it provides a multiple use rather than just a cover where there is just one use for it. Good luck with the breastfeeding journey! I hope it works out well for you.
The behavioral analyst in me LOVES your chart! I never used one with my babies, but I think that's a great option to inform mommies about :) I think that would be especially helpful for other people taking care of baby while you are not there -- kind of like a chart that would be used at a child care center.
I echo the others who are encouraging you to stick with it. It is SO important to seek out support from a lactation consultant after she is born. They can be invaluable. I found that the first many weeks were so challenging and not what I had anticipated, but with the proper support and encouragement, we were able to get things into a good and successful situation. The Lansinoh was great to have. I definitely preferred the washable pads to disposable. They were much more absorbent and worked better (also it was easy to forget the disposables and they would stick to clothes in the wash!) Just stay positive and patient and it will work out -- wishing you good luck!
Wow now I have baby fever lol Having warm wash cloths handy when you are pumping helps increase milk flow as you pump. Also a few tissues because the first few times breast feeding it is emotional! That bonding experience is priceless!!!
I think the most important thing to do is to just relax and enjoy every minute of time with your baby. It’s good to be prepared - you just don’t want to let the prep and record keeping stress you out and/or keep you from enjoying your bonding time with your precious baby. Good luck!!
I would LOVE to see a review of the Kiinde system once you start using them! I just found their starter kit on Amazon and it looks so cool!!
Add some Sharpies to your cart so you can mark your Twist bag with the date/time/where you'll store the milk (fridge or freezer) as soon as you're done pumping. That way you'll know which bags to use first and make sure you use them before they go bad.

You are the first person I've seen show the kiinde system. I didn't know about it until this video. I'm so glad I saw this. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with baby #7 and I just got on amazon and bought the starter set. I wish my insurance would pay for bags like yours does but unfortunately they don't. I did get the spectra s2 pump during my last pregnancy so I have that already. I'm also trying the hakka silicone breast pump and ladybug things this time.
I have a boppy but have heard great things about my breast friend. I may try it, I may not though bc this is my last pregnancy. I kind of wish I had gotten it before, but oh well lol.
I left a similar comment on your postpartum video, but seriously look into Lacti-cups or other milk collection shells. They collect your leaking milk when you're not feeding, but also keep your super sore nipples from touching anything! These are the number one thing I recommend to new moms after having two of my own. I had a harder time nursing my second and they seriously saved my sanity at times!

Breastfeeding can be difficult for a bit, but stick with it if you can. Once your breast become used to the feedings it is sooooo convenient. You are so organized and ready, and you got this!
The Haakaa isn't really for pumping. It is more for catching your let down on the opposite side that you are feeding baby on. You can also use it if you are engorged just to get a little pressure off if you don't want to pump.
If you are hand expressing this will go above the job.

Lots of pillows so pumping is conformtable, Had my baby Monday at 32 weeks emergency Miracle baby! I am planning to buy those 4$ pillows at Wal-Mart when I get home.
I have that exact breast pump! It’s amazing!!! I have used the Medela, and evenflo and they don’t compare to the spectra. Very gentle as well!
I heard the Haakaa is nice for when breastfeeding to catch the letdown while feeding baby and Milkies Milk Savers x2 to help catch leaks while not breastfeeding. Also the Milkies freeze to help freeze your milk flat in the freezer to cut down on space. I have heard that the twist bags are amazing just a bit bulky.
Jess, I have breast fed both of my littles and the first time nursing was such a learning experience! It didn't come naturally for us! However, it has gone SO much smoother with my second baby! I was determined to breast feed and it ended up working out with my first. I used a lactation consultant and we used a nipple shield for the first few months to help her latch. It is awesome that you are so prepared. Can't go wrong with that!
Oh, and I found that joining a breastfeeding Facebook group was helpful!! I am in the group milky mamas!
I love mothers milk tea. It tastes good which is a plus because sometimes you drink things because they're good for you or healthy or whatever the reason and doesnt have a good taste. And its a great price

I recommend getting the lansinoh hot/cold gel packs! They help so much when you’re engorged and/or sore. If you start to get clogged ducts, definitely pick up sunflower lechiten! It helps to prevent as well as emulsify clogs. Also I have a milk snob cover, it doubles as a car seat cover and it is a lifesaver!!

The twist bags are also good for formula. Twist has a bottle that you just twist the bag onto so even if you can’t breastfeed you can use it for formula when you are out and about or working so you can use frozen bags of formula like breast milk instead of carrying the full canister of formula everywhere. Or even a canister with some formula in it.
I loved our breast friend! I took our boppy to the hospital for nursing and it just wasn't the support I needed. They let me borrow a breast friend at the hospital and I had my husband go out the day we were released to buy one. I used it all the time!

Just letting you know there are a ton of apps out there, too, for free that can track pumping time/feeding time/naps/diapers etc if you get sick of carrying the clipboard around :) The app I use is called Baby Tracker

Love this idea but how did you manage to get the breast pump prior to delivery? I tried and they told me they can only provide it after baby is born 🤷♀️
My doctor wrote a prescription for it. I'm not sure if that's why. ❤🤷🏼♀️
Instead of a clipboard, there are many apps you can track feedings,, diapers etc. personally I think doing it for the first few weeks was enough for me. It gave me anxiety.
i only used my pump when i was engorged. this time around all i got was a haakaa and i’m pretty much set. i ebf my first for 16 months
I like to keep chapstick on hand and a blanket or something to wrap the baby in and a diaper and wipes
While I do enjoy your getting-ready-for-baby videos, it would be awesome if you could do some other videos that aren't related to pregnancy. I miss seeing your meal prep and cleaning videos especially! :)

The cocobutter petrolium jelly works great for when your nipples are very cracked. Its sticky so be prepared with a breast pad. Its like $2 at walmart and I liked it more then the nipple cream. Only thing is use it after feeds since baby shouldn't ingest it.

We’re military too; I’m on Select. All I had to do was have my midwife write a prescription for a pump. Then I got my pump through Aeroflow Breastpumps website. They were amazing to work with. I got a Spectra S1 pump and I’ve been using it for over 7 months and it’s wonderful. Aeroflow sends me replacement parts and milk storage bags that all covered by Tricare.
I’m military too but I’m on prime and I was able to get this exact same pump and kiinde twist !!

Hi Irene! I ordered mine from Pumping Essentials! However, they recently stopped providing bags because I believe Tricare was not doing their part. Many of the companies are probably not providing bags for Tricare holders unfortunately. 😫
