Thx for this one. Recently bought a HB 550+ EMG and i'm even more happy now to see that these HBs can really compete with much more expensive big G's. Tonewise i couldn't really hear a difference on the bridge pickup, whereas the neck pickup on the big G sounded better to my ears then the HB neck pickup.

Excellent playing again. The two guitars sound very similar.I'm generally a fan of 9.5" and 12" radius fretboards Does the Harley Benton's 14" radius fretboard make a difference to the playability?
Definitely more clarity and high end definition on the expensive one. But the Harley Benton held up decently well in some of these examples.
Yeah the Gibson certainly sounds generally better, but I kept reminding myself of the price difference
Slight difference in sound characteristics, but not in sound quality in my opinion. Perhaps I did prefer the HB slightly more. It would have to come down to more than sound to choose between the two and it would really have to be worth the humongous price increase to choose the Gibson.
The Harley Benton sounds amazing.

but when I hear a Gibson well. Basically I think the Gibson sounds better more classic sounding

Todays design and manufacturing technology is computerised. It's consistent and because the machines are so much better these days, factories can produce a lot of high quality standard guitars with much much lower cost. It's good for the new generation of musicians. Even the woods are more eco friendly.
This is true. But Gibson is putting out inferior guitars for the past eight years. The only way to get a decent Gibson is to buy a vintage one for a ridiculous price.
The main factor for sound is skill imo. If this is your hobby, do yourself a favor and buy the Benton. If this is more than a hobby and you actually play in front of crowds, then buy the Gibson.
Gibson will always be the real deal and it’s also important for the company to stay alive and profitable as a manufacturer in the US, but I think it’s important to enable younger or less professional players a nice instrument that looks like the ones they love.
In a Bandkontext at Live-Performance you can't hear the differents. It's more the feeling for the Player.

Honestly both sound good but the Gibson did not shine, meaning it was not way better than the HB. Looks like HB makes a good job.
I like More that Gibsons pickups, at least.

The HB sounded far more defined than the Gibbo. It's hard to justify a £2k uplift for a logo.

You could hand Jimi Hendrix a cheap Sears guitar and after a little bit of fret work and tuning he would blow everybody away.
Gibson has gotten fat and lazy. Resting on their past successes. Quality has gone down and price for what you get is ridiculous. Harley Benton is making very difficult to buy another brand. This guitar will be a gift to myself in July. HARLEY BENTON! 👍👍🤙
What ever you do compare a guitar with a Gibson Les Paul and switch the pickup and so on and then compare it to another guitar isn't the real thing!
Not disregarding the Harley Benton, but please compare tothe real thing...

The sweeping sounded much better on the gibson. Clean sounded much better on the gibson as well and not shocked about that. So if you aren't playing a lot of clean or lead stuff the differences sound wise are minimal. But I've played 6000 dollar guitars at guitar stores before and only own cheap guitars and can say the more expensive guitars can feel much better to play.
