Rush is the greatest band of my lifetime. I have liked them since I was 11, I am 43 now, they are just the best. No one told me to like them, like everyone else I just heard them and started listening. I could go on and on! The world without Rush would be a worse place.
Being born in 1972 I never thought I'd see the day this band would disappear into obscurity. Listening to them from a very early age all the way in to late adulthood they seemed timeless. Decade after decade they received airplay and really were a part of the background music to our lives. They picked me up more times than one could possibly count. Farewell my friends although we'll never meet you touched me deeply. Thank you for the sweet memories.
i love how getty, alex and neil never succumbed to the traps and perils of rock n roll excess..they stayed themselves and its a pleasure and relief to see guys who just love to make music ..i saw them last year in concert and they still sound amazing..
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD - Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved - Ask Jesus Christ to save you, ask Jesus Christ to bless you ! Glory to JESUS CHRIST
The thumbnail caught my attention as I have never seen Neil without a big kit. When I started playing drums in the mid 70s I was into Jazz, and really progressive and complex music like Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Magma, Brand X, The Dixie Dregs, then I heard Tom Sawyer on the radio and bought Moving Pictures. From that point on I was hooked.
Im a 14 year old girl and i like Rush. So what? If you are a real rush fan you are freaking awesome, it doesnt matter how old you are. Turn up the music and dance if you feel like it (i am ITS FUN) Ya gotta love the working mans rock and roll! Also does anyone know where the next concerts are going to be at???
Blue collar bands worked their ass off in those days. Four nights a week, giving it everything they had. Not just metropolitan arenas, but every podunk assembly hall and hockey rink from Dayton to Fort Worth. I remember 1975, right before 2112 busted loose. It was 5 bands for $5 and Rush was the headline act. We don't cling to that old music, we belong to it.
That VW commercial brought RUSH back to the forefront where they should be!!! Rush rocks, and should be recognized for their amazing talent!!! I was so happy to see that commercial!! Try watching Love You, Man!!! Rush as a cameo appearnce on that movie.....GREAT MOVIE!!!!
Great Song, glad the commercial brought some life back to it. Alot of noise from a 3 man group. Neil Peart still considered one of the best drummers ever at age 60.
Saw these guys again this year, took the last of my kids. Over the years I have taken all my kids to enjoy their first concerts always Rush. I really love this song, it makes me feel so melancholy reminds me of my youth. It's all I can do to keep from flying by night
I feel lucky to have Rush in my life, but consider this fact; Back in the summer of 1968, there was approx. 20,701,000 Canadians. Somehow, somewhere, against incredible odds, three of the best musicians happened to be great friends and started the best band in the world. Then six years later, in 1974, in a 1 in 22,809,000 chance, against incredible odds, the greatest band found the greatest drummer. Miracles exist....
those of us who do listen to metal and rock of today all understand that these badass classic bands inspired them to make music. most bands today suck, but you can still hear the greats of the past, and I don't think many bands today could hold their own in the masterful creativity, face melting riffs, and bombastic beats that these guys threw down. Keep rockin real people who love real music.
RUSH was my 2nd rock concert way back in 1974. April Wine was my 1st concert, the Electric Jewels Tour in 1973. Way to go Geddy, Neil, and Alex. You guys were long overdue on that entry into the Rock Hall Of Fame. I didn't miss any of your live concerts in Halifax, N.S. during the 70's & 80's. You guys were awesome PLUS, you even managed to sound good in The Forum is made out of brick's and steel which for you novices means...the acoustics STUNK!!!
The very first time i ever heard Rush was this very same video, even the same youtube channel! I heard this in August, 2009! My friend told me that he found these old records in his dad's closet, he said he listened to the album "Fly By Night" he showed me this music video and i was hooked on Rush ever since then! Rock On!
This song reminds me of last year.. I got my first electric guitar for my 14th-birthday and played this over and over again. It makes me so happy :D Thanks to my sister who helped me learn this song and discover RUSH!
I like how this generation heard this song in a commercial. LOL I heard this song for the first time around 15 years ago from my father and I'm still not convinced that it's a guy who sings this.
I'm sorry but this is about a million times better than any of the material they've done of late. Amazing musicality and dynamics, power, beauty and detail, but really it's a great song too. Thanks for the post.
My husband was the one keep mentioning about RUSH band, and me never heard this band name even when i was still working in the band for the 18 years, but anyway when i start listening to their songs and have the chance to watch this in you tube and i had said to myself wow...they're great...
They need to play this at concerts more! I'm almost 19 and I've only been to two concerts and they've never played it! I think people would go nuts if they did.
Rush is one of my all time favorite bands. They deserve more credit then they have recieved in the music world. For a 3 piece band, there is no band that can beat them. PERIOD !!!!!
So glad to be at the age I am now, music today is not like, well, yall get it. No cowboy-hats, just pure homegrown-n-down-home rock-n-roll. peace-out and too-da-lou......
RUSH is a monster that eats other bands for breakfast. I saw it first hand in 1974 when they opened for Nazareth and I was the world's biggest Nazareth fan at the time.
This was the irst song i ever listened to I remember going to the stereo in my brothers room and when i was 3 and playing it all day Thank you for LIVING rush!
i'm just now starting to get into this band, very impressive. love the limelight song, more beautiful than any sermon served at a church~! music is like a religious right/duty to bands like rush and zeppelin i think...
Amen!... Geddy Lee is one funky looking dude!...But he is beautiful when he plays!...These guys rock and its a god damn shame the pretentious era we live in where looks are more important than actual talent
We are simply talking the opinions of different generations. we have had different experiences with music and technology. Most of which is impossible to explain to the other, I'm just trying to get to the point that just because on has a different way of experiencing music, or friendship, or even life doesn't mean you had a better one. Today's music is still special to the listener who gains enjoyment and inspiration from it. Today's friends still offer friendship and wisdom to help you.

Next to The Beatles I can't recall a band that gives me this good of a feeling. I fucking love Rush.
Being born in 1972 I never thought I'd see the day this band would disappear into obscurity.

Obscure ….. no, never buddy 🤘. Remember, you can take a horse to water, but you can’t ….. you get my point?!
I'm born in 89 rush live on
Born in ‘64 and still jamming to RUSH.
Obscurity? Never
Not into obscurity-legends
Holy moly that man can sing.
And that dude can play drums!
And that man can play guitar!!
DAMN THESE GUYS ARE GOOD!
And that guy can really slap the BASS!
i love how getty, alex and neil never succumbed to the traps and perils of rock n roll excess..they stayed themselves and its a pleasure and relief to see guys who just love to make music ..i saw them last year in concert and they still sound amazing..
Thumbs up for Canadian music and RUSH finally getting into the rock n roll hall of fame!
No matter how many times I watch this song (a lot), I cant get used to Geddy without his specs
Just that sound of the guitar that 70s sound takes me back to a child in south west london brixton im 54 now
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD -
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved - Ask Jesus Christ to save you, ask Jesus Christ to bless you ! Glory to JESUS CHRIST
🤓
Amen 🙏
So the song Fly by night is about the rapture you think 🤔
thanks, but I will choose a path that’s clear, I will choose freewill
😂😂😂

im 41 and i still love it! good music does not go bad and its not a fad.

I first heard this song in the Volkswagen Passat commercial and I was DYING to find out the name of it. I am obsessed!!!!
OMG I'd never seen that commercial until just now. Thanks!

Amazing how young they were then - only 22! I was a senior in HS when this album was cut and still listen to it 37 years later!!!
i discovered Rush through the book "Ready Player One" and through my wonderful boyfriend! they ROCK!!

Miracles exist....
Supernatural brought me here...a very good song
One of the best live acts ever! They've composed all their songs to be able to play live. True musicians.
It's been a long time since a commercial made me smile... Forever Rush!
those of us who do listen to metal and rock of today all understand that these badass classic bands inspired them to make music. most bands today suck, but you can still hear the greats of the past, and I don't think many bands today could hold their own in the masterful creativity, face melting riffs, and bombastic beats that these guys threw down. i think it's great that you can appreciate good classic rock when most of your peers are rappin' . Rush is truly one of the best!
The very first time i ever heard Rush was this very same video, even the same youtube channel! I heard this in August, 2009!
