This set contains the works for piano solo by Sergei Rachmaninoff, 20th Century romantic, one of the greatest pianists of all time himself. In his iconic piano works he expresses his deepest personal emotions, from ecstatic joy and tolling of bells, to Slavic melancholy and utter tragedy. Many of his works became standard concert repertoire: the 24 Preludes, the Etudes‐tableaux, the Moments Musicaux, the two Piano Sonatas and the two Variations sets on themes by Corelli and Chopin.
The press has been enthusiastic about these recordings: “Chochieva has a superb capacity for holding Rachmaninov’s cantabile line aloft effortlessly, allowing it to take flight.”(Gramophone) “Chochieva is the possessor of a comprehensive technique who brings an inner glow to every bar. Her playing is indelibly Russian in its fullness and warmth, backed by a dauntless and easy command.” (Gramophone) GENIUSAS: Energy, virtuosity and a deep poetic feeling (Spiegel Kultur) GENIUSAS: “You are left to wonder at his blaze of youthful virtuosity and aplomb” Gramophone
Composer: Sergei Rachmaninoff
Artist: Zlata Chochieva (piano) & Lukas Geniusas (piano)

Thank you
Thank you very much for offering us the complete track list ..... excellent work. Wonderful video. 💖🎹
My sisters and brothers - all of these comments prove to me, yet again, that - in spite of all of the TERRIBLE (to put it mildly) conflicts between our various nations - WE are united by the universal language of Music. We will never meet, except here. But we know, understand, and support each other, and we all hope for a better world. Сергей, your music continues to inspire us to ... PRACTICE! Peace to all!
What is it with these Russians and their endlessly original pure creativity?
I could never tire of any of them, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Mussorgsky, Shostakovitch, Rimsky-Korsakov, Scriabin the list goes on.
But somehow for me Rachmaninoff does it the most for me in terms of pure originality and creative surprise.
Agreed.
Solitude is their key.
@@edu123fox Love your comment. tarkovsky made mention of what your expressed in the documentary entitled "poet in the cinema".
Agree. I call them The Russian's boys.

I didn't discover Rachmaninoff until I was in my forties, so for that I apologize to my ears
You very likely encountered him before though.
54 I apologise too!

Ll@@StellaPastLife
I discovered him when i was like ,9 years old
I remeber the very first time I listened to Rach music. It was the Concerto n.2 and I was 14 yo. Never stopped listening to his music ever since.
Same exact situation here!!! Piano concerto no 2 at 14. Loved him ever since
Music has been a part of my life since my earliest childhood. I love the works of Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin, Dvorak, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Grieg and whatever they are called. I also love the musical creations of Peter Tchaikovsky, who was one of Sergei Rachmaninoff's friends.
I, too, was caught up in Rachmaninoff's unique and wonderfulful music. These sometimes magical sounds - so full of love, full of heart, full of life and soul have never let me go.
Now I am more than 70 years old and it has become more and more clear to me :
*He wasn't a great "conductor"* ... not only...
*he wasn't a fantastic "composer"* ... not only...
*he wasn't a gifted "pianist"* ... not only...
*HE WAS A GOD* ...for me still the one and only god of music and always will be...
Who are the people who always dislike great music,, art, even things that are not subjective like a smiling baby there will be idiots who dislike it.
So much different shapes in the geometry of Rachmaninoff music
Op. 32, no. 5 is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard
Amazing! Thank you so much for posting!
THIS IS WHAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING!
So Absolutely Agree with you!
Indeed
Racmaniffof, de toute façon c'est merveilleux.
Servi par de bons interprètes,
La beauté
S'intensifie...
Cant wait for part 2
Part 2 will be out this Friday!
Absolutely beautiful!
Brilliant Classics, thank you so much for this musical gift !!!...
LOVE how all the pianos used are all warm and buttery smooth. Some thoughts must have went into the selection of the artists/recordings. JOB WELL DONE!
Wonderful!

III. Allegro molto

Strepitoso !

Guys, if I ever got to meet Rachmaninoff in real life, I think I would scream without the s.
I hope you’re a girl or else that would be squeer without the s
What is the average speed to these pieces/bpm?
Xo
