Taikyoku Yondan Shotokan Kata

Taikyoku Yondan - This is the fourth of six Taikyoku kata called Taikyoku Yondan. Rising Block is introduced in this kata. Taikyoku translates to First Cause in English.
In Master Gichin Funakoshi’s book, ‘Karate-Do Kyohan’, he writes; “In karate, there is no advantage in the first attack. It is for these reasons that I have given them the name Taikyoku.”
