Butter the hot cross bun and lightly microwave it to melt that butter to soak into the bun. That is making it fresh and the butter is better.
My sister, and Mom went to visit family in Ipswich, England in the early 80's. My GG Aunt Fanny gave my sister one for Easter. It had all kinds of chocolates in it. Which started us making our own Easter candy, and putting treats in it for the nieces, and nephews. Now the molds have been passed on to the next generation of family and I'm still waiting for my big egg with surprises in it. LOL Have to have my Terry's Orange Chocolate ball each Christmas.
That is amazing!! Love that you guys make your own eggs and have passed down the molds!! Oh yeah! Us too. Not a Christmas without one 😍😍🥰

Also: Christmas uses loads of orange flavours and so does Easter! I’m not a fan of the flavour because it feels s bit weird to actual oranges? But yeah they do so so many stuff orange flavoured! Including hot cross buns (without the hot cross bun spices, these days we make loads of different kinds without the spices, just the dough that’s same and the cross!)
We do have them at Easter like your speckled eggs and they are called Robin eggs. Malted milk balls covered with a thin candy shell.
Love the idea of the orange mini eggs too. Very different orange chocolate but I would automatically associate the colour orange with halloween not Easter.
Looks like an awesome box! 😍 We’ve been buying the Cadbury mini eggs in bulk and storing them in the freezer. That way we can eat them all year long lol! They freeze beautifully.

I've never seen an Easter egg with bits right in the shell before. I've seen eggs with candy or other chocolate inside, so when you crack it open, it comes spilling out, but nothing like that Yorkie egg!

Our easter eggs come in many sizes and types. All but the smallest have a base, so they stand upright and they are filled with all kinds of goodies. We also have a tradition, a small strip of paper with a saying inside the egg. On the top of the egg is a little figure. It used to be a furry little yellow chick, but now there are all kinds of plastic figures also.

I wish you guys had the tomato and red leister asda hot cross buns! They’re actually delicious and most people who don’t like hot cross buns like these, especially lightly toasted with soup!

I like the tops of muffins as well. Sometimes I'll break off the top and just leave the rest. And I am one of those people who eats one thing at a time. I'll eat the vegetables first and end on the meat. And I always eat the fries first because they're just not good once they sit. That was a delicious looking box, especially the orange chocolate. Ohhhh Alex…there’s nothing tastier than a digestive biscuit buttered and served with cheese! Cream eggs have changed, I used to enjoy them, but I don’t any more and I miss them!
Loved this video as I love Easter food! I'm a hot cross bun lover and here in Devon we have them lightly toasted and spread with clotted cream! You would never eat a naked bun! Love them buttered as well. It was funny that Alex thought hot cross buns were "savoury". They are definitely made from sweetened dough and I've never heard anyone call them savoury before! I'm just about to toast a couple now. I get them fresh from my local bakery - yummy!
We have choc chip hot cross buns here in Australia and one supermarket (Woolworths I think) does them with Cadbury choc chips which are my favourites. I don’t like raisins at all and I don’t like traditional hot cross buns but I do like raisin bread/fruit loaf weirdly.

I would love to try the M&S orange chocky chocolate’s. I love orange chocolate and the best I have ever had of orange chocolates has been in Belgium and London. They know how to do it right with the orange peel.
