As a person who has spent many hours camping in the woods, this looks like a terrific idea. When you are ready to leave a few quick cuts with a knife or your nail scissors and the entire thing is ready to pack out. It is remarkably cheap and light weight. It looks a LOT more comfortable than sleeping on the ground and it looks like it can be completely weather proof. I'm impressed.

Спасибо. Есть одно "Маленькое" НО. Самая дешёвая палатка стоит 1200 рублей+-. Стоимость этих рулонов выйдет тысячи на две наверно. По весу они тоже скорей всего будут тяжелее и менее мобильные. Палатку можно использовать много раз, палатку поставить 20 минут максимум. Вывод такой, в моей голове не укладывается мотив этого мероприятия:D

I'm seeing all kinds of plastic wrap gear being made. Tents, cabins..now a hammock tent. I thought bushcraft people were supposed to be eco friendly and Nature oriented. Last I heard, plastic wrap wasn't biodegradable. Or have we made evolutions in that industry yet? Correct me if I'm wrong. The local landfill and oceans that will receive it in the long term thank you for your contribution. The animals need more plastic.
She's not going to leave the plastic in the woods if she is really eco friendly she would take the plastic when she leaves and recycle it so it doesn't end up harming animals.
The thing that it seems like people are overlooking is the huge number of people that are currently without shelter. For about $100 you get 6,000-10,000 feet of 18" restaurant grade wrap, we could get the unhoused out of the weather for a minute, just sayin.....
And imagine if everyone who goes camping followed this tutorial and set up one of these on every camp site they visit, can you imagine the irreparable and extensive pollution this would cause with non degradable plastic wrapped around in campsites all accross the country
Don't be scared by a one-off proof-of-concept. Seems like a issue for a certain segment of the population who can't differentiate between a singular demonstration and a large-scale implementation that's limited by a lot of factors like cost, weight, availability and usability. It's similar to the intelligence of, say, trying to regulate the sale of V12 super-cars: these things are so dang expensive that only 0.0000001% of drivers could afford them, and even fewer DO - so the environmental impact is absolutely negligible.

Don't be scared by a one-off proof-of-concept. Seems like a issue for a certain segment of the population who can't differentiate between a singular demonstration and a large-scale implementation that's limited by a lot of factors like cost, weight, availability and usability. It's similar to the intelligence of, say, trying to regulate the sale of V12 super-cars: these things are so dang expensive that only 0.0000001% of drivers could afford them, and even fewer DO - so the environmental impact is absolutely negligible.

All the kids that are saying it’s pollution are true but they don’t know if she took it down or not. And most likely she did take it down. If she didn’t then that’s like not taking down your tent after using it while camping. Of course if she didn’t that’s littering, but most likely she did.

We don't know the exact size of the space in the video, but given that it's longer than her, a safe estimate would be 7 feet x 4 feet x 3 feet, which would equal 84 cubic feet of space. Even if it were completely airtight, a very rough estimate would allow them about 7.7 hours of air, maybe less if you go unconscious from carbon dioxide consumption earlier

Considering that balled up plastic wrap takes up about 400% more space than wrapped on a roll.. I wonder what animal is caught in this or where is is 'decomposing'. Even if trashed, it still ends up back in a land fill.
