      @@diannebuswell1805oody for you. So go watch them, racist. Use a few brain cells, this happened in 1981 in Oregon. How many non-white (minority) residents lived in Oregon at that time? Probably damn few. You’ve shown your ignorance here quite abundantly. This happened, thus there’s no reason why this movie should be banned.

    This movie was made im my hometown of McMinville Oregon. I was 22 years old at the time.. I graduated from McMinnvile High School in 1978 "Home of the Grizzles" ! At aprox. 34:41 I can be seen standing on the ramp that leads up to the stadium. I'm the young girl with blonde hair, wearing light tan pants and a brown leather jacket. I'm standing next to a little boy with his arm draped over the railing. My big "movie moment" ! Sure takes me back ! I'll be 60 years young this year.

    The team are so kind with her, I liked so much how they treat her like a little sister outside the game and in practices, and inside the field they treat her with such respect. I liked a lot too they went to buy her a dress and also the lady on the shop that sold them the dress cheaper without them notice it ♥♥♥

    • @joec9693
      @joec9693 4 роки тому +16

      I always appreciated that they never did the "Jerk Jock" stereotype and that the team only cares about the fact that she can actually play really well. They were never mean just awkward at first not knowing how to act around her (tackling her but apologizing for it) but once they saw she could actually play that was all they needed to know. And once the most popular boys in the school accepted her pretty much everyone else accepted her, it was instead the parents the "adults" that acted like stereotypical high school kids mean comments, gossiping behind peoples back very cliquey.

    Great inspirational story. I graduated in 1979 and there were 2 girls who decided they wanted to play on our football team. They didnt last the season but they were at least given the opportunity. Its a tough sport and a lot of physical contact. I admire and respect those who try. We are only limited to the dreams we have for ourselves. I dont ever see a day tho that women will play in the NFL .

    This movie is so funny, I find myself cracking up throughout the movie. Especially love how the guys welcome Tammy by saying, Tammy & her super-bra!!Her teammates love her & the men need their heads examined, along with their nosy wife's who make everything their business. Her awesome family stands behind her in this situation. Love her mom's stand against the overgrown female bullies (supposed ladies with dresses on): who need a spokesperson!!

      Very cool. I played with the real tammi Philomath oregon. We came in first that year. Lost only 1 game. She had to carry me her back and run 50 yrd in practice. I felt so fat. But we were paired. Same weight. Good times. We made the news. ❤️🥳

    The real Tami was 14 years old when she played one year in Oregon. Her only experience playing football prior to the year in Oregon was playing flag football in Canada. After, she played girls basketball.
    She was 5'2" 117lbs.

    Great movie. I have never seen this before. I used to play basket ball with a young woman and she was 6'1" and her brother was 6'6" when we had a pickup game at the local park I always had her on my team. She knew the game well and she schooled her older brother and his friend who was also 6'6". Even though both her brother and his friend could dunk the ball, She knew how to run the pick and roll and she played it to perfection. She knew defense and would box out bigger and taller players and she played in the team concept better than most other players had a tendency to ball hog where as she often would look to pass the ball first to the player who had the open shot or she would take the shot when she was that player.
