Besides it being so absurdly strong, i've been waiting for cards like this 1 drop that combine two classes that weren't combined in gadgetzan(was it gadgetzan?) And i'd love to see more cards like these like some warlock paladin or warlock warrior(i know these might make no sense but whatever works i just want more class combination cards)
The reason people doubted the 1 cost is because it is a bad top deck late game if you don't have any cards in hand. People tend to forget that you have probably already lost in that scenario or need good luck regardless. Also it cost 1 mana, pretty important for the "broken" scale. Yeah it is nuts, people just bad at evaluating.

Explosive does damage based off the HP of the minion it hits, so since it was a 1 drop, the 1 damage was removed, but 5 transferred to the opponent. The game does not know that there is a divine shield in the way, so it worked as intended, as the minion took 1 damage but was protected due to shield, however the remainder of the 6 damage, so 5, transfers to the hero.
I like Ice Block if Im running Cloud Prince cause they suck later on when you run out of Secrets, which is also the part of the game you want them the most, but especially without them it really doesn’t do anything.

might be because of multiple copies of certain cards existing due to core set (pretty sure these kinds of interactions aren't intended though in the same way that you still can't put up to 4 copies of a card in your deck if it's in core as well as another set)

Guys you are way overhyping this 1 drop. Ironically, secret mage's worst cards are the secrets themselfs. Its the other cards that synergize with them, that give the real vlaue. The screts are there to just slow down the opp. So drawing more clunky 3-costs isnt broken. Well its more decent in wild, but in standard its less powerful, since there are less good cards that utikize secrets

Runes sees 1 health and deals 1 to the protector and 5 to face, it doesn’t consider other card text. I think it’s unintuitive but that’s the way it’s always worked.
I could highly recommend you to put one copy of Oasis Ally secret instead of Ancient Mysteries. It helps very much against aggressive and weapon-oriented decks

Its always worked like that, runes sees 1 health on the protecter and deals 1 to it without considering DS, send the rest face.
Quick question, why doesn't secret mage run ice block? Is it just that there are better secrets for the deck's tempo?
