Can we actively pursue "ego death" or is this only achieved through a natural, gradual spiritual awakening? How can a serious spiritual seeker pursue this without falling into the trap of the ego-mind luring us into another one of its "projects". I would like to learn more about a conscious, deliberate way of transcending the ego.
Uri Comendador - the ego is an illusion and seeing it for what It is makes it vanish. Killing it would falsely give it a reality that it hasn't got and is another trick.

So when you say micromanaging your life would an exame of that be like trying to decide to let of people in your life or not?
Not necessarily. It's about where the control comes from. If it's from suffering, don't follow it. If it's from practicality, then do so

Hi Jason, I am enjoying your channel. I have a question regarding Mantras. In your experience does the numerology of your name and birth sign influence the efficacy of a mantra. Also does the location of where one uses mantra matter very much (i.e at home or a setting in nature, forest /sea side) Many thanks 👍

I think I'm right in the middle of the surrender/letting go phase but when you are right in the middle of it, it's terrifying. I get what you mean by students getting stuck. How can I go through this process of surrender in a "gentler" way and with more ease and grace?
remind your self that no matter what happens to you, you are a infinite source of awareness that can never not exist. you are only in a temporary vessel my friend, but the spark of life being expressed through your vessel is infinite. You will continue to live through limited /finite vessels until you come to realizing you are infinite.

Harrison Hot Springs, BC. Just above freezing most days, and this particular day is was about 7 degrees celsius above freezing.
Love your work, however find a conflict in this process because of an artistic creative past. the works created in at the past appear to hold me in the past literally, a great deal of time and energy goes into serving the creations that exist- and what they represent of the past. My desire to create more is ever growing- yet the idea of being enslaved by maintaining and serving my past self makes me move very slowly, it causes a great deal of confusion about exhibitions, about selling works and creating still more, versus other experiences- or shall I say simply being with little desire at all. The main desire is simply to be elsewhere ( in a better environment) and do very little at all. Also can't imagine not being an artist or living any other way. So how does that gel with what you are describing?
You can do all these things but internally you are not caught in the goal and reward system. The fulfilment is autonomous but outwardly the body still has needs governed by physical reality. Your fulfillment is not based on the outcome of the physicality however
, Thanks for the reply. I understand you from a certain point of view. Yet the environment I'm in currently is super destructive. Its disastrous, it's full of dust and is brutal to nearly everything. Not only is it destroying my works - it appears to be destroying everything else-clothes, car, my health, my families health, my love relationship, my income. All my capabilities are slowed down. It's like running in a dream ( but not moving.) The outer pressures for survival and a return to prosperity keep mounting. Yet I'm un willing to compromise as before- sternly unwilling ( how much time do we really get? Compromise was for the past.) Not in any place to live out the capabilities gained in my hands and creative abilities now though. I know of places much better, reaching them now is much more difficult. I focus on the internal things you mention, yet the physical reactions to what I feel and think about- wow, they crawl all over me in waves. I can't sleep, ailments in the body, real aggravation. - would talk to you direct yet was not having luck reaching you through your site.
