I wouldn't claim to be enlightened but I do have a feeling that enlightenment comes through unlearning rather than learning.

In “Thought as a system” by eminent physicist David Bohm, he discusses in detail the notion that thought itself is fundamentally an abstraction which moves us further from solutions to the very problems we continually think about in an effort to solve.
“We don’t usually think that thought is like the knee-jerk reflex. We think we are controlling thought and producing thought. That way of thinking is part of our whole background. But I’m suggesting that it’s not generally so-that a vast part of our thought just comes out from the reflex system. You only find out what the thought is after it comes out. Now, this really overturns a great deal of the way we look at the mind or the personality or our entire cultural background.” -David Bohm

How to practice "meditation"? The type you refer to when you mention meditation.
As a teenager I had a profound experience after about a year and a half of what could be referred to as a type of meditation. It wasn't intentionally this, really more a type of concentration and visualisation practice. I have only shared it with very few people. One person I did explain it to told me I had reached "Samadhi". Which I am not sure of and if this is the correct term or not. An experience never to be forgotten. Definitely beyond the mind. Without over analysing it. It was a direct experience. Anyway. I just wonder sometimes about what these words really mean when you mention them. Maybe its beyond an intellectual explanation.
Do you have a video on how to "meditate"? I really am enjoying the many benefits of the mantras you teach on your channel. This has been my main focus for quite a while. It has helped me a lot. In terms of getting into another state of mind and being. Overcoming certain emotional states and thought processes etc. A lot of my discoveries and experiences in this "spiritual" area have seemingly been by chance or coincidence. Like discovering your channel. But the benefits are great.
I'll watch your video again. As I often do. A long comment I know. I just figure if theres anyone I can ask about these things its you.
Thanks again for all you do.

Concentration is a mental exercise. It isn’t meditation

So then the question is, how to learn the type of meditation you talk about? The experience happened more as a result of the practice. In terms of stilling the mind to that extent over a long period.. I am being vague as it's probably too tricky to explain as it was very much an experience "in the moment". I didn't exactly say this was meditation, but some could refer to it as that.(some have this idea) It wasn't intentionally so. It was just a practice in itself.
There are various practices referred to as meditation. Is it doing the mantras silently in an internal state? Or there is also a deep type of reflection and introspective awareness in which we can become aware of our own ego driven motives and behaviours and change them. Working against the ego (and destroying it little by little) and thereby increasing our consciousness. Is it more like this? Or..?

I just wanted to learn and understand what you mean when you talk about meditation.

I understand. Keep tuning into the videos. The transmission will come through regardless of whether your mind understands or not. Blessings
