I agree with Annie Laurie Gaylor, (approx timeline 25:07) "What a champion you (Marci Hamilton) are for true religious liberty...". Excellent information!

One of your more informative interviews. And the corgi seemed to appreciate it too! 🙂

It does not surprise me how low the religious right will go to get their way and it does not matter what religion it is.

26:00 Chrisitan Nationalist may be a "minority" of the population as a whole, but they are a minority that all vote, and they all vote GQP. As such, they are a major portion of the GQP.
They vote "religiously" to make a pun.

So you have this book that is without error that has history, science, philosophy, morality so you don't have to think. You just point to the place in the bible that seems to pertain to your question and there you are. No amount of data, science, logical persuasion matters. Just point to the bible. You don't spend any time wondering how it is that the answers in the bible are similar to the answers you would give. After all you are a good person, born again. Even when other born again Christians find their own answers different than yours it is because they are not true believers. Love poker night! Well you can find something in the bible to agree with that. Think tattoos are bad there is a verse for that. Want that 300000 motor home instead of helping the poor, there is something in the bible for that. Now church leaders have found every single conservative belief from assault rifles to smoking pot in the bible. When Jesus was talking about the rich it wasn't about wealthy conservatives just rich liberals. This is a dangerous time, not the first time or the last when religion with it's monopoly on truth takes over and goes after all us pagans.
