Discussion of Poultry Nutrition

I've seen a lot of questions regarding basic poultry nutrition in several of the groups I'm in. Since Jeff is out of town I thought it would be helpful to replay the first two recordings Jeff and I did together on the subject. There are probably many of you that haven't seen them either. These videos predate the creation of the Poultry Keepers 360 and Poultry Breeders Nutrition Facebook groups. Unfortunately, because this is a replay, we cannot take your questions live.

I wish Jeff Mattocks would write another small book on purchasing a basic microscope plus instructions on preforming a fecal float test. I know that's the easy part, but if he could have pictures and descriptions of the coccidiosis oocysts plus other eggs and parasite pictures with their descriptions so the backyard chicken flock owners could do this when vets are not an option. He could then explain the effects on the chickens/chicks, then proceed with treatments. There could be a brief preventive educational chapter on rules of cleanliness and nutritional importance also. I think this would definitely sell! I know how to do a float test but doubtful if I could read the slides without picture references of what the most common things to look for.
