ART OF MELODY Sad story. But yeah the way he said “ I kept walking” as the dude is still digging in his pockets. Ha ha ha ha. That sounds like something I would have done until I caught someone attention. Lol
One message I got was.... you never know a person. Even loved ones. Lupita's character was a loving mom and seemingly nice person. But she was a soulless clone who trapped the original girl in her place.
So true the role Switched as well ....the tethered became more human like she cared about the children she birth and had remorse for the Ones she didn't. While Red the human never became contempt on what she had on the under ground she wanted what the tethered woman build.🤔🤔🤔 Both had selfish motives but in different ways.
She was just trying to be free and took an opportunity essentially. I felt bad for both girls. The tethered didn't ask to be there and have to go through that stuff, so it made sense.
@@lovelydime7913 The real Red lol. The one who dragged the original down to the Tethered area. She saw an opportunity and didn't hesitate to escape to what she thought would be a better life when she switched with the girl. It was unfortunate for the original, but hey, she probably should've listened to her parents and not strayed away🤷🏽♀️. Then once you escape, you fight to maintain all you've established. I think I resonated with that character just a tad😆.
While her performance was amazing the likelihood of her getting nominated is probably not gonna happen. Seeing as The Academy isn't keen on Horror films and snubbed Toni Collette great performance in Hereditary, I don't see Lupita getting a nomination even tho she deserves it.
Eric Page the mixed reactions are all because of the plot twist at the end, the writing in the film was scattered & inconsistent but overall it was a nice film. Acting was flawless, visually it was beautiful with some great shots (especially the two shot of Pluto & Jason in the closet.) The writing is the only thing that could’ve been better, much better.
I like this guy very intelligent plus you can see that he is a classically trained Actor that studies his craft well and knows the depth of how to act and portray a character.
This interview was very good. I enjoy Winston’s intellectual thoughts, his communication skills and humor .. and he’s incredibly handsome. Please get Lupita on this interview as well. She’s amazing!

Just Another ABC88 the main is being your own worst enemy, hence them haunting themselves. Which is very accurate as much as the community does not want to admit.
leo lmfao .. you just made these assumptions based off what? Where did you pull all of that out of my statement? You have a crazy ass imagination little fella. You have no idea what I believe and have no idea what my stance on the situation is. Don’t be ignorant and assume just to hear yourself talk
Really? How did the tethered have up to date, clean clothes? Who fed the rabbits? Where did the scissors come from for 300 million clones? Why was their power underground still? Why didn't Addie just go back up the escalator since she knew the way out? Most glaring: How come the tethered seem to mirror the movement of their counterpart at some times, but the rest of the time they have full autonomy? Jason tricked the kid into backing into the fire, but we see numerous examples of the tethered doing their own thing, totally unaffected by their "human" version. I really liked it though.
@@shanefoster333 Thank you, because I was confused as hell about the movie too. Still loved the acting, and the humor of this fine ass mans character, ...But I was looking hard af for the "subliminal", but still couldn't climax idk.
Within the conversation... you can hear Jordan Peele’s message through both movies in Winston’s points. The message of gentrification in GET OUT and also, the duality of US within not only the black community but the US as a whole. The nuance brought to attention in both movies is genius - I know Jordan is getting a lot of praise, I honestly don’t think it’s enough. As an consumer you can appreciate the picture, as an artist you can appreciate the strokes it took to obtain that picture. Pls don’t let Jordan Peele’s masterpiece go under appreciated, even if you didn’t like it - understand nobody has conveyed the message in this way. MLKs message doesn’t mean the same without Malcolm’s contrast. You cant appreciate Picasso without the contrast of Da Vinci. This is art in its purest.

@chrissy christoff so you deny them because theyre biracial? Please tell me how a black president, in government full of white people is supposed to give money to one specific race of people?? You do know our government is a DEMOCRACY, not a DICTATORSHIP. Obama could just make a law without getting it cleared, voted on, and approved by Congress. But I will thank him for the health care and the student loan forgiveness that helped me get of debt from my college loans. And if you think I'm saying their whiteness is why we accept this, then you need glasses and better better reading comprehension skills. You’re supposed to be strong, thuggish so to speak, etc. it’s time to cut that shit out. Also, I LOVED US.... a solid psychological thriller & imma need Lupita to win all the awards

The Talented I think he means that his character literally saved Black Panther’s life in the movie after he was defeated by Kilmonger 🤦🏾♀️😂 his tribe found his body and brought him back to be healed.
One thing I loved about the movie was how easily the white family got killed and didn’t survive because often times in movies the black characters get killed quick and easy
And for once the white guy got killed because he was over-confident and refused to investigate the threat at all, instead of because he was over-confident and ran straight into it like a dumbarse. All the tropes get turned on their head in this movie, lol
So the movie needs the approval or pat on the back from the white folks in charge of them shows and ceremonies in order to be a great movie with a great message?

That robbery story was so funny my BROTHA‼️ Let me say I’m sorry that happened to you, but I’m happy you can find humor in it now.
ART OF MELODY Sad story. But yeah the way he said “ I kept walking” as the dude is still digging in his pockets. Ha ha ha ha. That sounds like something I would have done until I caught someone attention. Lol
That shit is comedy when he runs the story back to us now 😭
HELP....ME!!!
ART OF MELODY No, that was no joke what happened to him. Yes, I'm glad he could find humor in it too. Something about him, I like this guy!!
He has great story telling skills and comedic timing! He told the story like a comedian and I was rollin!!! 😂😂😂
@@nonih9338 essential who did you want to win?
@@lovelydime7913 The real Red lol. The one who dragged the original down to the Tethered area. She saw an opportunity and didn't hesitate to escape to what she thought would be a better life when she switched with the girl. It was unfortunate for the original, but hey, she probably should've listened to her parents and not strayed away🤷🏽♀️. Then once you escape, you fight to maintain all you've established. I think I resonated with that character just a tad😆.
@@nonih9338 how many time have you seen the movie?

Then took that ass right in the house. 😭
ALL I Know is Lupita Better be Nominated@Oscar Time for her Performance in US. Her performance is🔥🔥🔥.
Black people love validation from white people.
She better win!
While her performance was amazing the likelihood of her getting nominated is probably not gonna happen. Seeing as The Academy isn't keen on Horror films and snubbed Toni Collette great performance in Hereditary, I don't see Lupita getting a nomination even tho she deserves it.
Best actress....... and supporting actress....
Let's stop worrying about validation from white folks. When are we going to start validating ourselves.
Us was great. I seen some mixed reactions but that’ll happen when you’re making something unique and different. This has me excited for twilight zone
Eric Page Same!
It was a good movie not great by any stretch but it was entertaining
I didn’t care for it that much. This movie wasn’t that “different” but I’m still excited for twilight zone
AND candyman(june 2020)
"My Knee!!!" 😂😂😂 loved the movie and will be watching again. You miss so much on the 1st watch. Jordan Peele has another classic under his belt.
Winston Duke...very intelligent interview. Peele is killing the game! #black excellence
Ifw this dude, "if you wanna get crazy, we can get crazy"
Almighty Liek right!!
I thought i told you to get off my property.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Right, lololol
Gabe was so corny lol
Then run in the house when he come down 😂😂😂
I like this guy very intelligent plus you can see that he is a classically trained Actor that studies his craft well and knows the depth of how to act and portray a character.
Yes. He spoke of his studies.. 😊
Yeah his acumen was quite impressive
This interview was very good. I enjoy Winston’s intellectual thoughts, his communication skills and humor .. and he’s incredibly handsome. Please get Lupita on this interview as well. She’s amazing!
I would love to see her on breakfast club, but Charlemagne has a thing for disrespecting darkskin women on his show. She doesn't deserve that,no matter how strong she is.
Love him! He is my image of what the intelligent, strong, loving and beautiful black man is! Thank you, T.B.C, you did it again, with another great interview! Have an awesome day!
@chrissy christoff Winston Duke is not married to a white woman. Matter of fact, he's not married at all.
yes! i fell in love after this interview. he’s so well rounded.
I like how he's naturally funny and doesn't take himself too seriously. Great interview!
I love hearing him speak. He has a very informed perspective.
We need the prequel to “Us”. Titled “Them”.
Yeah I want that to explain the logistics of it all
I was thinking “Them” would be the sequel, but prequel is another interesting possibility. might even make more sense
E- Trayde that will be dope!
Need an "ON FO NEM" next
*Yall
This interview was gold.. helped me understand the movie so much more Winston Duke is an intelligent ass dude #respect ✊🏾
He's from the twin Isles of Trinidad & Tobago ... can still hear his "Trini" accent even tho he's been living in the US for years

Winston Duke is a whole social scholar. Get this man a show on NPR!
That movie has so many hidden meanings in it. Truly amazing.
Can you tell me because they must still be hiding from me... Not being funny, being serious.
I really like him and loved this interview..very intriguing..
Tobago proud 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Every aspect of the movie was brilliantly thought through 🙌🏾
do you know what the movie was about ?
Calvin Farmer that shit was trash stop gassing
Ok can y’all stop so I can watch it for me self yo😀
@@shanefoster333 Thank you, because I was confused as hell about the movie too. Still loved the acting, and the humor of this fine ass mans character, ...But I was looking hard af for the "subliminal", but still couldn't climax idk.
That is how you know you're in the midst of ART. True art stimulates dialogue and reflection.
He talks about going to Yale like its the local HS. Very humbled guy or no love for the school outside of the drama school.
Y'all need to do Lupita.
Nah, we'll take Zendaya. Better actress and better looking.
N.W.A. Speak for yourself
That would be EPIC
I'm SURE someone's doing her.

Right he made me mad and laugh at the same time
When he was confronting them outside for the first time. I couldn’t stop laughing.
Hewas
I didn't find him funny at all
Not all black men are violent or fighters. He is a regular man with a regular life why he got to know how to fight
DKA Because stereotypes based on looks
"regular" is pushing it. Gabe was upper middle class, dealing with uppity white people, going on vacations to santa cruz
@@Xannyphantom905 That is a lot of black men though meaning regular in 2019 the black community is steadily moving from poverty a lot are just middeclass now
@@michealbourguillon2114 no that doesn't mean regular, alot is not majority. in any case, a middle class black man isn't renting a beach house and hanging around people like, whatever Tim Heidecker's character was. and being any class doesn't exempt bruh from knowing how to fight

Just saw this last night & I walked out of the theater shook. It was definitely unnerving & had a interesting plot twist. Have to see it again
It's 1 of those films that get better after you've seen it. Gotta let it marinate and watch again.
I love my people gettin that paper....BLACK EXCELLENCE
“Don’t limit me” 😂 I know that’s right!
I almost didn’t want the conversation to end. What a refreshing interview Winston 💕
This was an awesome interview!
Winston really made me see the character Gabe in a different light. I thought he was weak in the movie but I get it now.
Winston himself appears to be well rounded, intelligent, compassionate, educated man. Good Luck with future endeavors.
Glad you understand now. Very shallow to miss all that while watching the movie.
Sounds like his 'real' voice is just like the character in 'US'. His character as M'Baku in Black Panther was some deep acting.
Yeah some sexy acting....
jessica Skyy - yeah. M'Baku could get it anytime anyplace...Winston...🤷♀️. Lol. Winston. still cute though
I thought he was Nigerian for real in black panther his accent was on point
@chrissy christoff so you deny them because theyre biracial? Please tell me how a black president, in government full of white people is supposed to give money to one specific race of people?? You do know our government is a DEMOCRACY, not a DICTATORSHIP. Obama could just make a law without getting it cleared, voted on, and approved by Congress. But I will thank him for the health care and the student loan forgiveness that helped me get of debt from my college loans. And if you think I'm saying their whiteness is why we accept this, then you need glasses and better better reading comprehension skills. And if you care not for Jordan Peele, you obviously don't care for Winston Duke...why are you even here are this Winston Duke interview about the Jordan Peele movie? 😂Those no othet bridges to troll underneath?
Trill God he is no married to a white woman. He was dating an Asian girl. Not sure if they still together. But you right. It doesn’t matter
Naaa that “run your pockets whisper “ took me out 😭😭😭😭
Pocket massages 🤣🤣
It was accurate, though, right...lol
You remind me of Sparkle. Gorgeous.
Big Tone aw thank you 💕
Swear to god shit sounded like ghetto romance lol
The crazy thing about it, the ones who robbed him probably saw Black Panther, saw this interview then recognized him..
He wouldn't be recognizable after one instance. Specially when you're just going thru his pockets
Marc Anthony Liu plus they're probably dead by now
@@JustWrightHD Dead or in jail.
Damn good interview! Loved how Char didn’t care about spoilers, yall had long enough! And Winston made a point about being “big and black” people see that about you & automatically place certain roles on you. You’re supposed to be strong, thuggish so to speak, etc. it’s time to cut that shit out. Also, I LOVED US.... a solid psychological thriller & imma need Lupita to win all the awards
That’s what Art is.. an expression of feeling to cause feeling. Winston knew exactly what type of art he was apart of.. one that would cause great conversation and provoke thought. Kudos to him.
This film was absolutely amazing. Lupita Nyong'o was BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, AND RESILIENT!
Great interview. I hope to see more performances from Winston Duke who is intelligent, thoughtful, very well spoken and handsome to boot! Shout out to the Caribbean!

Brian James Michael b Jordan did that
You reaching. Kilmonger did
The Talented I think he means that his character literally saved Black Panther’s life in the movie after he was defeated by Kilmonger 🤦🏾♀️😂 his tribe found his body and brought him back to be healed.
One thing I loved about the movie was how easily the white family got killed and didn’t survive because often times in movies the black characters get killed quick and easy
Racist ;)
The movie is trying to tell you not to feel that way.
And for once the white guy got killed because he was over-confident and refused to investigate the threat at all, instead of because he was over-confident and ran straight into it like a dumbarse. All the tropes get turned on their head in this movie, lol
I’m literally in love with Winston
The movie def need some nominations and Rewards. *Us* was extremely good
What was good about it? If you've only seen it once how did you catch on so fast
So the movie needs the approval or pat on the back from the white folks in charge of them shows and ceremonies in order to be a great movie with a great message?
I had to see get out more than once to catch the concept
