Physical media is much better than streaming
No it's not
👍
I will watch a movie on a streaming service in order to see if it’s worth putting in my library once it’s released on 4K!
Well said. I feel the same way about physical disc and streaming so I'm majority physical disc when possible.
Another brilliant video, I do steam movies, but it's done on my I pad and chrome cast to my TV, but li,e you, I prefer the physical media. With both bluray and 4k. I play all of this on a 9.1 sound system.
Another way I look at it is going to bestbuy or where ever and physically picking out your movie bringing it home at putting it in your player and you know it’s yours. 👍📽🎬💿💿
great video ...i agree 100 % WITH YOU i prefer the disc as well
I absolutely love physical media i’ll never stop getting 4k movies they look and sound so good. You should do a top 10 your favourite movies for this year or something like that. John wick 4 is my favorite so far reference quality.
Oppenheimer looks amazing. I’m seeing it in a full 15/70mm Imax theater on 8/2, 2pm. It’s one of only 30 Full 15/70mm IMAX’s in the States. (Providence, RI)
Streaming is getting very good on video quality but it is still very noticeably lagging in audio. The differences however are not as noticeable for most viewers. But once you invest on top quality setup, it starts to expose the weaknesses of streaming audio.
New transformers without a 3D blu-ray is just crazy to me. IDK what they're thinking
That’s because 3D is yesterday’s tech now. My Sony 4K projector has 3D but I’ll never use it, as I like buying 4K.
There are a few health problems regarding 3D, as it’s mentioned in my Sony manual.
There is minimal or virtually no data compression on the movie files that are on a 4K UHD disc.
Meaning sharper picture, slight improvement in colours,
and audio quality being crystal clear.
I have a Panasonic UB9000 and physical media playback always tops streaming.
Only downside to collecting 4KUHD discs is the clutter and room they take up.
But who cares! The 4KUHD disc quality playback - is really commercial cinema reference.
Blu-Ray discs even look superb upscaled to 4K on the Panasonic ......
Downside of streaming for me is audio quality and black levels. A dark scene always looks pixelated when streaming.
Another note. I always wait until it's out on disc if it's a movie I'm really looking forward to seeing.
I get bad black Pixels, could be because of my broadband speed???
I have a lot of blu-ray’s dvd I also have extra room in my Av rack. I’m going to find a Sony 400 disc Blu-ray player.
Disney deserves to lose $
Talking about doing away with princesses. You think they would learn for Bud Light. Sorry to go there but I couldn’t resist. 😅
Disney aren’t selling physical media in Australia anymore. No wonder
The new HBO Max is trash on appletv since the changeover to “MAX.” Frame matching is terrible which ruins the experience
I never download music and movies if it's not on vinyl or cd DVD Blu-ray Screw it.
Transformers Rise of the Beast is an abomination for audio on VUDU streaming
I do like dvd and blu-ray is better
Why not get into a media player/server combo? I got into it bc I was sick of my discs taking up all this space and I wanted to pack them up and store them away. In the end I found myself enjoying this setup a whole lot more than I expected. My Panasonic has been collecting dust ever since. There’s definitely a learning curve and takes time to get through all the discs but the result makes the home theater experience much more enjoyable. Just sit, pick and watch.
That’s another thing I was thinking about. Doing a plex server or something like that.
@@myhometheater7029 I think you'll like a media player like a Dune, Zidoo, or Zappitti better. Easier to implement, and better hardware. Plus, it makes me feel better that its a full sized home theater component. I started with just buying an optical blu-ray drive and 16TB Hard Drive. Not a lot of money and allowed me to learn how to rip the discs and get comfortable with the process. Then, I picked up a server followed by the player. After a few weeks of constant ripping I added a 2nd optical drive which really helped speed up the process of getting through my collection. It's a commitment but worth the effort, and it satisfied the urge I had to buy a Kaleidescape.
I agree, I ripped all my discs using MKV and DVD Fab during the pandemic, when we all had time on our hands. I watch them through a Zidoo and find it as good as the disc with the convenience of streaming. I support physical media 100% but choose to watch the ripped disc i have bought.
@@Carducci990 yea, I’ve got a Zidoo also. Definitely no going back. I always maintained that I didn’t mind pulling and loading discs and sifting through menus, but I totally underestimated how much better it is.
I have an oppo 203 and did the same!

Transformers rise of the beast had the worst dynamics of any new release ive ever seen on iTunes. You have to turn it up to unspeakable volumes just to get certain dynamics but then other things sound too loud. Just not a good audio stream
