I loved the radiance cover. You captured the radiance's personality better than the entirety of hallownest could capture her whole.
I wish she was a bit more openly angry/frenzied, She roars like a feral animal and raves about not wanting to be forgotten in her dream nail lines, so she certainly isn't the greatest at keeping her composure, but despite that, she does effectively that for most of the song
@@Saltboi1823 I wish there was more of a lead into her fight too. Like something other than just a cut to the HK screaming the last lyrics. Like a rewinding animation or “Shell within the void, now you’ve seen the end, now you see it’s true. What became of me, as did become of you. I still failed in the end! In the-!” And then Hornet should’ve had interrupting lines like, “Shan’t extend!” And then something like, “Do it, Ghost of Hallownest!” And then Radiance should have referenced the “Shell within the void” line. Like, “Shell within the void, ashes in the end. Ancient enemy, I will not fall again.”
And also for all of their anguish in Broken Vessel and Sealed Vessel, the Shades and the Hollow Knight don’t get to sing out their revenge. Tragic. :(
i don't know why she says "foolish mortal", either, that REALLY bothers me more than it should - vessels aren't mortal. and ghost, at this point, REALLY isn't mortal.
"but radiance is talking down to them" - not like that, she doesn't. she knows ghost is a shell filled with ambiguously sapient void, that's the farthest from "mortal" you can get. she knows that.
and hallownest doesn't use the word "mortal" regardless. there's Higher Beings (what radiance and ghost + others are), then everything else.
new: it's a "generic angry god" line, that's what's got me so bothered! it's generic, and in the context of hollow knight, it just makes absolutely no sense. especially coming from the radiance, directed at the ghost.
@@tridreamer7144 Yeah, I really agree. For as much as I totally loved the Radiance cover and *almost* everything about it, there are a few changes I'd make... For one, Radiance refers to the Pale King as 'King'; I feel it'd have been more fitting for her to address him as 'Wyrm', since they're both Higher Beings. Further, I seriously hoped we'd hear the Hollow Knight at the end when Radiance is defeated. They did a very, very good job capturing Radiance's personality as the mighty elder goddess full of rage at being forgotten, and I like how she insults the Pale King, mocks the Hollow Knight, and diminishes Ghost all at the same time, but they failed to include her eating her words at the end when she's defeated... During the final chant of her name, it'd have been cool to have the Hollow Knight in shade form say her name, and add some closing line maybe, like "Radiance... Dream No More", or something... But alas, it is not to be I guess.
There was so many surprises during this, that halfway through Grimm I thought they were going just throw in Pure Vessel after Grimm.
I would like pure vessel as a more upbeat more heroic version on sealed vessle

Yeah, I didn't know if they were gonna do Radiance after Sealed Vessel ended, and then it was almost as if we got to see both the good ending and the bad ending. It was so cool, and I wish someone would make an edit where Sealed Vessel plays like normal only to have the transition into Radiance
I love how in the live chat of this video, by the time Sealed Vessel started to play, I was almost picturing the viewers singing the echoing voices like the fanbase itself tries to comfort the Hollow Knight at their final moments…

The Hollow Knight Bytes were consistent in high quality. I'm actually blown away by the sheer amount of power all the VAs brought. Amazing stuff, and these covers will remain some of my absolute favourites!

This entire package is genuinely amazing
The lyrics are actually really lore accurate which is something I wondered how it'll work out ever since the announcement of this package being made
All of the performances are on point, and all of the VAs did a wonderful work here, just as usual in this channel
The selection of songs is just right, and while in my opinion a Soul Master cover would have been a welcome addition, asking for that would just be greedy
This entire package makes justice to what is basically my favorite piece of art ever made, and I am so happy that it's done and all here

Hollow knight is by far my favourite game of all time, so when I saw Hornet came out and I realised that there would be musical bites, I specifically didn't watch them so I could have my reaction to all of them back to back. Consider me damn well impressed! You did Hollow Knight justice!
Dirtmouth has a wonderfully serene yet sombre voice, like a hymn floating on the wind, which makes perfect sense in canon. Dirtmouth is a tiny town that starts off with only one inhabitant, thus the quiet tome of the song matches the setting.
Hornet was regal and commanding, yet did not feel demeaning. The lyrics you gave her shows that she purposely acts as a roadblock as to make sure you are worthy of the King's Brand, as well as strong enough to combat the infection.
The Mantis Lords shared a similar feel to Hornet, which makes sense. Hornet guards the King's Brand while The Mantis Lords guard Deepnest. Unlike Hornet, their lyrics contain some condescension, which make sense. The Sisters of Battle are prideful of their combat prowess, and would look down on those who haven't earned their respect. You absolutely nailed that feel.
The Dung Defender is done near perfectly. The lyrics you gave convey a feeling of a competitive nature, yet a man who sticks to his morals. A knight, even when he no longer serves the king or queen.
Oh, Broken Vessel. This is my favourite. When I realised it was Broken Vessel, I thought you would go down the route of a child losing his mind to the infection. You broke my expectations and surpassed them by a long shot. You made the Broken Vessel/Lost Kin a voice for all of The Ghost and The Hollow Knight's fallen siblings. Their rage, their sorrow, and most prominently with that ever-present whispering, their melancholy. You conveyed the feelings of a collective of abandoned children eerily well, and I am all for it.
The Hollow Knight is a masterpiece of sorrow and tragedy. The voices of what I believe are The Ghost's shade siblings contradicting The Hollow Knight, the desperation in his voice as he fights, the solemn note it ends on. All of that crafts the story of a boy desperately clinging onto the only task his father gave him, so he wasn't tossed into the abyss like his siblings. Horrifically beautiful work.
The Radiance speaks (or sings) for herself. A dream god of light that genuinely believes herself above all life and wants all of it under her control. The lyrics show her looking down on The Ghost, telling them to give up because their efforts are futile. The choir you gave The Radiance shows her love of being worshiped, as the choir simply repeats things that The Radiance herself already said. Wondrous execution of a deity that sees no issue in what they have done.
Grimm. I was so happy to see this get a remaster like Dark Pit's theme, as those were actually the first two of your lyrical adaptations I listened to. I still believe it to be an example of how to make a cult leader charming yet very intimidating. At first, when it's The Grimm Troupe, Grimm is playful and acts like this is a dance. But that transition between The Grimm Troupe and Nightmare King Grimm was not only flawless to the point that I thought they were the same song for a while, but also showed the seamless swap from a charming troupe master to an extremely dangerous nightmare god leading a cult. And the new art! Absolutely brilliant and completely in character to our Nightmare God.
All in all, I am very happy with every song in this package. Not only are they all amazing to listen to, but they faithfully portray the characters and story of Hollow Knight to the point where I believe even Team Cherry would endorse these. Bravo, everyone who worked on this. Brilliant work.

Though I love all this songs, I am sad that the Knight doesn't get to reply to the Radiance. The rise with all the siblings in the background was such a great opportunity for a void chorus to respond.

@@wildfire9280 I have a personal belief that the reason Broken and Hollow gain voices is due to their infection, but their shades would be unaffected, so Ghost would be unable to speak, same with the shades in the background of the Radiance fight.

I'm glad that every Hollow Knight song is actually accounted for, because the announcement only said that the only non-bytes songs we'd get were Grimm and Dung Defender. I'm especially surprised to see Truth, Beauty, and Hatred, which was already part of another bytes package so that confounded me a bit. Also, obviously Radiance is awesome.
This was my first time watching a Musical Byte’s premiere, and I was mostly blind going into this, and let me say THAT WAS AWESOME!
I haven’t actually got that far in Hollow Knight but I definitely should play the rest of the game now!
By the way, I hardly knew anything about Grimm before now, but his song was incredible, especially because Alex was voicing him. And listening to the song, reading the lyrics, I felt like Alex just…. IS Grimm. Like not like my Headcanon voice for him, like, he really IS him. Don’t know if him being a villain now has anything to do with it or what but I loved the song!

Although I am wonder something; keeping up with the track record of previous Musical Bytes, there's going to be an extra song in here that wasn't released prior to this package. Wonder what the song will be? Is it what we expected, or will it be something unexpected? Only one way to find out.
*Me after the Package went live* Ok so.... this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. First off, we not only get the normal videos that were leading up to this like Hornet and Sealed Vessel (All of which slapped.), but they included previous Hollow Knight songs too like Dung Defender or Dirtmouth. (All the pre-musical bytes Hollow Knights song as also cool btw.) Secondly, even if he was already in a previous Musical Byte, Zote the multiple title Grey Prince makes his freaking return in this one, he is truly by far the most persistent Hollow Knight character, to the point that HE WILL invade other bytes to show off his mightiness. Thirdly, glad we ALL figured out the Radiance song was coming, but I don't think ANY OF US expected how hard it was going to slap, fr though, that song goes HAARRDD in a way that I feel only MotI and his buds can produce. Last but not least, they did it... they made a freaking REVISUALIZATION of the Grimm song, not saying it was bad before, but seeing it in the Byte compared to the OG song, man it feels like Grimm has truly embraced the Nightmare King side of himself alongside his Troupe Master self.
Overall, this Byte is an astounding, 15/10!!! Yes, this Package was SO good, it broke my Lyrical Adaptation Rating Meter. Well done Man on the Internet.

Music very cool, fun to listen to, but in my opinion Grimm's accompaniment here wins everything for me, it's perfect, in my opinion. Cool synchronization was between your words and the fight songs with Grimm and with the Nightmare King Grimm something beautiful. I like it :)
