That spiritual and human immaturity of coping "skills" had "shockingly'brought us to the VERY edge of extinct as a species (of Bad ENOUGH Samaritans. Involved in the efforts to turn the tables on that makes me fortunate but changes nothing about the HUGE harm done by being a "chosen"/targeted one.
The World is about to undergo a brief military martial shur down for safety and facing what the REAL state of the World has been and is now at the VERY edge of stepping into SO the opposite of after millions of actual VICTIMS have bee Rescued from by those Awakened enough to SEE their true victims status and kind enough to refuse to neglect seeing and thus able to Deal With the obvious TRUTH

I't also takes a LOT of really BRUTAL means to break someone free of brainwashing, say like Stockholm Syndrome, which brings up the thought of someone believed to be "chosen"(special), someone who is most in need of rescue from being victimized and having nobody but him/herself to make the bad guy to be a "good "guy AND make being a victim of hideous abuses a "good" thing in some way. And As if good can only come from enduring bad. Nuts! Al Contraire!

The truth, from my humble opinion, about chosen ones is that the chosen one must choose how to deal with being chosen-we already know that you're forced into this, whether you want it or not; agreement made be damned. They have violated the terms of that agreement by wiping away your memory, before giving you the cosmic version of a Mickey Finn, and then dropping you into this world.
If we're operating on the belief that we have lived multiple lives, then why would they need to wipe your memory each time before you come back? Wouldn't that effectively defeat the purpose of learning anything?
